Do You Walk 10,000 Steps a Day?

Health experts recommend walking 10,000 steps a day. Do you? How many steps do you walk a day and how do you do that? I don't get that much exercise with my work so I have to make an effort to incorporate walking into my life and have difficulty making it to 10,000 steps a day. Guess I should make it a committed exercise. At one point, I actually took a job while I was taking classes that required being on my feet all day and walking because I thought it would be good for me physically to have that exercise even though it wasn't a job that appealed to me in any other way. Now I am often at a computer and I miss that regular physical movement. Tell me how much you walk and how it is incorporated in your day.

My average is closer to 8000, but I do try to make 10,000 when I can. I can't track my steps anymore because my pedometer broke, but when I get a new one, I'll be able to.

You are doing very well in your walking. By your reference to your broken pedometer I can tell it is something you pay attention to. I admire that.

I always wanted to buy a step counter to see how much I can walk during the day. I try to walk as much as possible. I avoid elevators and escalators and try my best to be physically fit. I don't exercise too much and I don't go to the gym so walking everyday is all I have. If I can avoid using a shortcut, I will and will walk as much as possible
