Whats your most expensive piece of clothing ? Did you think that you pais too much for it ? Why did you pay for this item with it being too expensive? Do you wear it a lot to get your moneys worth ? Just curious because I saw a skirt on ebay for $1500 and I thought thats criminal, how much material goes into a skirt...

I would never spend that much on a skirt. It is insane. I always lok for things on special, cause i dont like spending heaps on clothes. It wasnt always like this though. When i was younger (quite a few years ago) i spent a bit on clothes. I can remember spending $170 on a leather skirt, ansd around $200 on a jacket. Looking back, i can see how stupid it was, but i thought it was good at the time. I actually still have the skirt, but dont wear it. A bit small now. haha. Best wishes to you, calais

I used to live in a country town that became really cold in Winter. I was about to move interstate and North to warmer climes and ond day while shopping at grace Brothers, I found a coat. It was black and full, like a cape but with sleeves, coming down to about mid thigh. I tried it on and it looked great. I was a size 12 then. It was on sale for $150 reduced from $390 and 100% pure wool and fully lined. I thought I would probably not need it as I was moving north and walked away. About 2 weeks later, I was shopping again and decided if it was still there I'd buy it as it was too good to pass up and one just never knew what was in the future. Here we are, more than 20 years later, I'm size 22 and still wearing that coat and it still fits and looks like new. I only buy expensive stuff when it's on sale.

Oh, I feel guilty *laughs* writing this reply to your discussion because I spent around USD1000 on a leather jacket like a few years back, and I haven't really worn that jacket that much either. It was of some kind of brand name but I still wonder why I paid that much on a leather jacket. When I come to think of it now, I feel guilty and I don't think that worthed all that money at all. I think I was cursed *laughs* when I went into that store and I was happy with the jacket's design at that time. Now it's sitting in my wardrobe somehow.

I bought myself the cutest calvin klein suit for $350 for job interviews. I know thats alot(at least for me), but for the last two years, my life has been mom, mommy, and oh yeah, mama. I had two kids in just under two years and I just haven't felt attractive ever since. I needed the ego boost and its the first thing that Ive looked cute in for a long time. Needless to say, my ego feels much better!

Wow, you guys really buy expensive stuff. Well, I don't really do that. I buy unique looking stuff. Not very expensive but looks good. I don't like buying expensive stuff, then I'd come across with someone wearing the same thing. I abhor the thought of buying something very expensive but doesn't look expensive at all. These are those with ordinary design etc. Plus, sooner or later, they won't fit anymore. I just buy the necessities. =) Here's what you call expensive: A farmer had been taken several times by a local car dealer. One day, the car dealer informed the farmer that he was coming over to purchase a cow. The farmer priced the unit as follows: Basic Cow $ 999.95 Shipping and Handling 35.75 Extra Stomach 79.25 Two-tone Exterior 142.10 Produce Storage Compartment 128.50 Heavy Duty Straw Chopper 189.60 4-Spigot/High Output Drain System 149.20 Automatic Fly Swatter 88.50 Genuine Cowhide Upholstery 170.80 Deluxe Dual Horns 59.25 Automatic Fertilizer Attachment 339.40 4 X 4 Traction Drive Assembly 884.16 Pre-Delivery Wash and Comb 69.80 Farmer Suggested List Price $ 3336.26 Additional Dealer Adjustment 300.00 Total list price (including options) $ 3636.26 Tax and Ear Tags 418.00 TOTAL PURCHASE PRICE $ 4054.26 hahahaha...

Well, the most exspensive piece of clothing I own is a genuine leather jacket. It cost me a whopping $300. It is so cute though, it ties in the back and fits me so perfectly. I will wear it for years, if not for the rest of my life!:D Unless of course it wears out. I wouldn't pay more then $30-$40 for a pair of jeans, and over $20 for a shirt is plain ridiculous in my eyes. The jacket I bought for my own Christmas gift though, so I don't think the money was wasted.

The most expensive piece of clothing I have is a wool-blend trench coat that I paid $69 dollars for on sale. Since buying it, we have had not one, but two very mild winters. I have worn the coat exactly two times!!!! I hate that I paid so much for it. I would have been wiser to have gotten a few sweatshirts...that is all one needs here in the winter. Hello global warming.

Funny incident, i must say here which is my hands on experience. Some years back i went to shopping with my friend. I want to purchase a simple shirt. I was looking at the shirt pieces in the showcase. And now,the sales girl interferred, and told me, Sir, those are costly ones, and the cheaper varities are here, this side. In a spur of a moment, i replied her, did i say you that i want cheaper one, or else did i look, as a kind of person who cant, afford to high priced varities... Saying this, I asked her to show me the costliest piece available in the show room. The sales girl pleaded sorry, and showed me some shirts that were in the range of Rs 15000 to Rs 20000/= You, know what i did... i saw a shirt labelled Rs 20000/ (nearly $500) and ordered it to pack, without saying anything, i left the shop, with my friend who was wonder struck. Ofcourse i wear it, but everytime i do, this incident comes to my mind. Net result== My ego has made me spend more..

My most expensive piece of clothing aside from a wedding dress (don't know why I didn't think of that until I read someone elses post) is my snow moblie suit. It's a couple of hundred dollars, but even shoveling on a 30 below zero day with 60 mile per hour winds, I'm only a little cool. That outfit will probably last me for the rest of my life since we only have a few days to a few weeks per year that it's worth it, but if my car quits in sub-zero, I may stay alive, we had someone die on the Northway before they could get help, of hypothermia after their car went off the road. No I have to hope I don't gain any more weight for the rest of my life! Interesting discussion, thanks.

The most expensive piece of clothing would be my long lace jacket, which I paid about $80 - $100 for. I don't usually spend that much on an item of clothing but it was really beautiful and it made sense that it cost a lot because it was handmade. I have worn it lots but it's got a few holes in it now that I have to patch up before I wear it again.

My most expensive piece of clothing over the last couple of years, is my wedding outfit. I was married in a registry office nearly two years ago. I bought a matching skirt & top. It is royal blue un colour & the skirt is straight line & comes to just above tghe knees. There is a sleeveless fitted top to mstch. Also I have a three quarter length light weight jacket to go over the top. It cost $300.00.

I am like you - that really is quite sickening when you know that kids are starving and living in total poverty! Years ago I used to buy quite expensive clothes (not in the price bracket of that skirt though) but nowadays I don't have the money and even if I did I don't think I would do it! The outfit I got for my nieces wedding cost about £300 but I got it in the sale and it cost about £120. That is the most expensive outfit I have and I do like it! xxx

That skirt is over priced in my opinion.. The most expensive wear cost only $200. This would be my jeans. I don't regret the price because I can see the quality and comfortability of wearing it is really worthed.. I think you should think twice before purchasing that thing, the price is reall a crime.(:

I have a £60 ($120) pair of jeans. Some £20-30 ($40-60) hoodies, the rest of my clothes like shirts and t-shirts are like £5-10 ($10-20). I don't have many clothes, and I don't spend much on it, I normally make everything I buy last for like 6 years or more. lol
