Foreign products may not be healthy. Just last spring, thousands of pets were poisened by PetFood made with foreign ingredients. Toothpaste with poison added,(made in China) was taken from the store shelves. Asian Honey containing drugs banned in North America, has been flooding our markets, and driving down honey prices to the detriment of local beekeepers. Canadian apple juice markets have vanished since China can produce apple juice at below Canadian production costs. Why are these food items sold in our stores? Is saving a few cents worth the risk to You and your Family? Support your local Markets. Make sure your family eats Safe and stays Healthy! Buy local produce!

I do my best to buy local produce. I want fresh ingredients, and it's not too fresh when it comes halfway across the world. Our produce in Canada is the best, but unfortunately, our season is so short. So, in the winter, I'd rather buy frozen Canadian produce then "fresh" crap from China.

sorry, but there is very little local produce where I live, and its generally exorbitantly priced.$5 for a pint of fresh strawberries, sorry, nope, I'll buy California's at $3. I try to buy Canadian products, but if I'm buying tinned foods, I don't care where it comes from, its all pretty much the same quality, or its not allowed to be sold.

i try to buy locally, but steer clear of overseas imports if standards are not as high, in australia all our tinned fish comes from thailand, wont buy it as their fish is high in mercury but generally buy from local suppliers though also in australia at the moment even though u think something is locally produced it may not be the laws are changing now to govern this. they try to palm it off as local but it has actually been imported from somewhere else

I'm happy to read that! There is a lobby working to get labeling changed here in Canada. Hopefully we will be able to stop Packers from labelling," Made in Canada, or Canadian Produce" if there are foreign additives.

Right now there is an ongoing dispute between china and our government (BFAD) because of some food products that said to have formldehyde, people from our government are trying to have a recall of all those imported products. I always but local produce too and making sure I have read all the nutrion facts and the ingredients of that item.
