as my son landed in Kawaite yesterday he found a place to set up his lap top and wwe chated for about 30 min. He forgot to bring his chargers so we had to stop chatting. But Friday or his saturday it hit 125 and they are living in tents and they dont have cable or wiring set up in the tents to do their laptops so they have to go to a cyber cafe and pay $5 an hour to use their lap tops he also had his web cam on so I could see him. I now have one set up so next time we talk he can see us too He and his men are to be sent on again Wed. not sure of where but sure it will be Iraq. all his men want to stay with him as commander and others have came up and asked to get with him . Dont ya know that made me proud!. He is just hoping he can keep his crew all together for where ever they end up. The time adjustment has and isnt easy to adjust for he is now 10 hours ahead of me and his wife . Said the boys sleep all day and up all night for right now so maybe the few days they are where they are they can adjust to day and night differance. He and his si joked around for awhile and made him smile so that was good to see. am hopping the next time I get to talk to him this web cam works so we can see each other . So cool to IM from all that way isnt puters wonderful!?

Hi Lakota12..just have a few minutes to catch up on responses and visit some friends sites. This has been and will be a busy week...I have 3 writing assignments and 1 photo shoot tomorrow morning...so I haven't been on Mylot as much. Just wanted to stop by and visit and read this positing. I was not aware that you son was in the services and posted in the Middle East...my thoughts will be with you, him and the rest of your family. I am glad to hear you and he have a way of keeping in touch. It must be a little less worrisome to know how things are going there. How long is his tour? Do you have any idea when he will be back? Anyway...you know my hugs and blessings are heading your way...and we'll keep in touch.

thanks for stopping by . Yes this is my 2nd son that is in the service. He is there till March or so they have told him. Now he has gone on further and havent heard any thing from him he seemed to think it would be harder to get on line there than where he was for a few days. So I wait to see what happenes to see if we can keep in touch with him were he is now. HUgs adn blessings. You are going to be one busy ga!

You must surely be proud and rightly so. But I 'm guessing it must be hard too. How long is his tour of duty there?

I think that is wonderful that you were able to get to see him on the webcam. It can really make a huge difference. It's horrible that he has to be over there. But at least it's good to be able to stay in touch almost instantly instead of having to wait for regular mail. I will keep him in my prayers, along with his crew.

thanks and I sure they will get home after they have done the job they were sent to do and not before. I do hate to think more lives will be taken but when we go to war thaats what happens maybe if they Impeach Bush we could get things done faster or congrees get off their butts and do something in stead of just hollering out things they are going to do I was reading wehre they need to settle the budget for more war funds and home land security and I am all for that but they need to do something with Bush too . One Senetor said we all know he is the worst Prs ever lol

Oh that is wonderful- My brother is in Iraq also- It started out great with the communication from him- but then when getting into Iraq- they have blackouts- When a soldier is wounded or hurt- they don't want the news getting out to people before the family- so they halt all communication out of Iraq- We hear from my brother much less since he has been in Iraq over Kuwait- I wish your son the best of luck there- I'll be thinking of him and you- and yes it is amazing how you can be across the world and still communicate!
