What did you think of Tammy Faye?

I just read the announcement on the news that she died. My parents used to watch her and her husband on those religious programs on TV, when I was young. I used to look at her crying with all that mascara running down her face and it really freaked me out! I thought she was a nut. Then several years ago, I saw her on the Surreal Life. I thought she was such a sweet person. She just seemed so kind and considerate of others. She was like a mother to them. That changed my viewpoint of her, and I felt like she really "Walked the Walk". Then I saw her final interview with Larry King on You Tube. Even weighing 65 pounds she managed to stay positive, and talked about how she was looking forward to a burger and fries, and happy because she gained 5 pounds. I gotta say, this woman who I thought was a nut, wore way too much makeup and jewelry, and acted crazy got to my heart. She seemed to be such a kind, sweet and sincere person. I'm glad through the Surreal Life I got to know her character better. I will miss her. And I'm sure she is in a better place. God bless her.

I also watched her on the Surreal Life. I had seen her years before on some tv show with her new husband and got to see her post Jim Bakker and the PTL Club. Getting away from Jim was the best thing that happened to her. I think she did walk the walk as was shown on Surreal Life esp in things that went against what she believed in--she let others be who they were but was not willing to change who she was. We'll never forget those mascara heavy lashes. I too hate it that she was taken early--she was a lady with a good heart.

Do you know how old she was? I'll have to look it up. I think she was in her 60's?

I used to watch the PTL club when I was a kid from age 11 to 14. I liked Tammy alot. I even had one of her records. She was a bit of an oddball with all the makeup she was wearing. I couldn't understand why she felt she needed so much. Anyway, I am 40 now and still like her and miss her.
