My mother was a nurse in the Queen Alexander Nurses and spent time in Egypt in the 1930's, I have photos of her time there. I am trying to build a picture of what life was like and where these nurses nursed. Would be interested to learn if any books have been written, or where the records are located that concern these nurses. I would like to donate these photos to a worthy place. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The period is between the Wars WW 1 and WW 2.

I was delighted to read your entry as my mother was also a QA and from 1939-43 nursed in the Middle East including Egypt ( Alexandria) and later India and also on hospital ships . I am currently working on her very detailed journals for this period with a view to some kind of publication and I also have a good collection of photos that she took during this period. I have already been in touch with the Imperial war museum and they might be interested in your photos . I'd love to hear more and to exchange stories . My email is rhiannon_evans1@hotmail.com

found a couple of websites that deal with this maybe this would help www.burmastar.org.uk/qaimnsr.htm 1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t42215.html Another suggestion would be go to the websites..barnsandnoble.com...and amazon.com look and see if there is any avialable for you there. These are pretty goo resourses for finding books like this. Have you check libaries for information. Also check on ebay and see if anyone is selling anything that would pertain to this. Good luck
