I just hate dial-up, it runs so slow, and I can't even watch videos on my computer. I am planning on upgrading to highspeed next month though, so that is good. So, how many others are dealing with the nuisanse of dial-up?

I used Dialup in a 56Kbps US-Robotics for 3 or 4 years... I moved to cable as soon as it was available in my location

In least developed countries dial-up still popular for e-mail exhange. Through outlook experss or micro soft express or eudora mails can be downloaded in PC's hard disk easily. I use broadband since 3 years past but speed is not good moreover when thunder roar in sky broadband like disrupt connection even when storm or tornado hit the city then broadband line disrupt then dial-up is helping to log in internet. Recently wireless system internet through mobile phone occuping places of dial-up or broadband as you can log in from anywhere with edge modem based mobile phone and can connect with PC or Lap Top from anywhere. I have purchased one edge modem based mobile set and get connecting via mobile operator and getting much speed than broad band and dial-up.

I have dial up, the only times I have ever used high speed was at friends homes. It is a bit frustrating, the slowness, but then again the price is something I can afford without doing without something else. The price of high speed would really put a hole in my budget. I understand that more affordable high speed will be coming to my area soon, perhaps then I can try it. Or even----maybe my grandson who is living with me will pay the difference, wouldn't that be great.

Ugh, I can so remember dial up. I've been on high speed for several years now. I'm telling you, after you get high speed, you'll do anything to keep it.The first thing I did when I had it hooked up was a download, and it was done, literally in seconds. You'll be so glad to have it, I promise.

Not I. I love my DSL. Got it as psrt of a package from BellSouth. It also came with a dscounted rate for Direct TV. By the way, if you are using dial up, check out my website in my profile. There is a wasy to make money for free, just for being on the internet. They are especially looking for dial up users, as well as international users.

I didn't think you could still get dial up any more. I have an 8Mb DSL. :) Haven't had dial up for years though.
