Free satellite TV?

Okay... so I have free high speed internet. All I had to do was buy this dish for about $129 and I can "piggy back" off a place near by that gives free internet. Since there are so many places that have free wireless internet for their customers and at free local libraries I just got an amplifier so I could get it in my home and works great. Now I found out about getting satellite TV for free. Just need to buy all the equipment which is a dish and a reciever and the package I'm looking at is $350 total and no monthly fees and I can get every directv, dish network, ect channel there is. However I don't quite no if this is illegal and if it was if it's something that anyone would ever know. I'm not even completely sure if it's going to work... however my father in law knows someone who did it and it works great. Anyone know anything about this sort of thing? Any one got free Satellite TV and not on the PC. I mean right on your TV screen and just like having the provider but no monthly fee.
