Why girls in China are often scared to go to bars or pubs??

Hi,
I am sonia, a Chinese unversity student. As i know, a loy of girls are scared to go to bars. They think the places are not safe, what they are scared for on earth?? The men or anything else?

safety is first.
I also think it is not safe in that place.
It's better not to go to that place for a students.
