Going back to school

I have just attended my 20 year class reunion and I feel sad that I never finished my college education, so I am going to go back to school. I have always wanted to and I have taken a few classes last year online. Now, I have made a vow to myself that I am going to finish and I would like to go on and get my Masters in social work. I would really like to work with children but I am not sure in which area. How many people have gone back to school so late in life? I am just curious. Thanks in advance for posting!

Hi there, congratulations on going back to school. I am sure you are going to really enjoy it there. I remember when I was in school we had older people who came back to study and they all got along very well. I really like hanging around with them because they have a much better perspective about life. I realise many of us get along better with older students than with the younger ones because of that wisdom and maturity that comes along with age. I am sure you will do very fine and all is going to be well. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks! Growing up Pink Panther was one of my favorite cartoons! I still like him, but I never see any cartoons for Pink Panther anymore!

I returned to college in my thirties. I alread had a degree in Finance but I was noticing that a lifetime of that career was going to leave me unfulfilled. I returned to school and got an equivalent of a second degree in elementary education. In the state where I live you can not receive two BS degrees so a basically received a teaching certification. It as a great move for me. Best of luck to you. You will never regret getting more education. And a social work job working with children is a wonderful thing.

Thank you, and I hope to help with working with children. I know it is not a one person job and there is a shortage of social workers and an abundance of children in need.

It is never too late to further your education. If you really want to go back to school, I think you need to go for it. There is nothing better thant you can do for yourself than to go to school, if that's what you really want.
