the new harry potter book was released to much fanfare over the weekend...it may be setting the record for the most books sold ever...it seems that 5,000 books a minute flew off the shevles world wide!!! wow! have you got your copy yet??

it was bound to sell so many books. it was one of the most anticipated book ever. the books were sure to sell like hot cakes. but i think the book didn't live up to the hype that much.

I'd have to disagree there. I thought the book was amazingly written, and it's rivaling Order of the Phoenix as the best book in the series.

I got mine about 12:20am on the 21st. 5,000 books a minute huh? And people think it's getting "too much hype" How long has it been since books made more money in their "opening weekend" than a movie did? This is a huge deal. I wish people would stop complaining about it and realize it. Not saying you are complaining...there are just a lot of discussions on this site complaining about the coverage the book has gotten.

I haven't read the books, or watched the movies, and I don't intend to either. It's too popular to be of interest to me. I have been listening to MSNBC, and hearing about STORES selling millions of copies each. That's amazing!!!

No, because I still have to read all the others! Lol but I can guarantee that at some point I will be buying it. Maybe after I have read the others, and it goes down in price a little! Lol.

The price won't go down for quite some time. At least not for hardbacks. It was cheaper the opening weekend than it will ever be.

Nope, and I will never be buying one. :) I don't like reading, so I guess that's the main reason why. :O
