My software is very simple to receive my email. That is Outlook Express. When I install Windows XP, it's already available. If I don't check my email via Outlook Express, then I will login the website of my email to check it. How about you?

Hello youless!:-) I usually use my web based email accounts most of the time. I have yahoo, hotmail and gmail accounts for general as well as some for specific purposes. At work place, I use thunderbird mail client. I do believe that it's easy to receive emails on an email client or software then on web. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Email software and clients provides easy and user friendly environment. You can receive emails and see them in lesser time. One can also see email content without losing sight of other emails, so one can see back and forth relating different emails. This facility is addressed by gmail, which offers a chat type email organization, where all related messages are grouped in one. The only disadvantage that I have seen so far in email software is that, you have to use it on a machine where you have configured it while web based email accounts can be accessed from anywhere without additional hassle. but then again, one should use whatever one is comfortable with:-)

kamran12 is right. That's why I use Thunderbird Portable. My e-mail client works on any machine. :P Another big advantage of e-mail clients is SSL/TLS session encryption.

Oh I have outlook express too for my personal and important emails. These emails are from family and friends and important people who email me. Then I use yahoo and gmail for all of my internet money making sites and friends I just met online. I use yahoo very often than gmail though most people say gmail is better it's just that most people around the world use yahoo.

I have been using Yahoo mail for a very long time. I have been using this e-mail for ten years already and have not used any other. My husband back then, who was still my boyfriend then, made me my e-mail because at that time internet was pretty new to me and knew nothing about these sort of stuff. Even my e-mail address is still the same.

We are so much in common. I have started to use my Hotmail from 1997 and it's my first email account. I still use it until now and it's still my main email account.

Hello youless, I use Outlook Express and Mozilla's Thunderbird to check and received my emails. Outlook comes with Windows XP when you install it while Thunderbird is free to download on Mozilla's website. Both of them are very useful to me as I can back-up my emails and contacts on my harddrive. :-)

well i have used outlook express but now i am using microsoft outlook as it is much better application than outlook express. not only does it gives you a lot of sorting facilities but also the software is very professional so you can have reminders, to do list and many other things. and apart from that you have less storage requirement when you compare with outlook express and also i think the microsoft outlook is faster than outlook express. i had a 3 gb backup of my mail and then you have many visual tweak option which makes life more interesting so i think it is better to have microsoft outlook as your default email client.

Hey yl, I use outlook express too-I like it much better b/c it's easier to get pictures in my emails w/o it you have to copy the pic from the web then paste it in your email rather than just pulling it from your pics. +'s |:)

I use Thunderbird Portable mostly, but I also have JBMail in case I ever have to connect from a dial-up service. Both run from my flashdrive, along with 71 other portable programs. ;)

I use Yahoo Mail. Though I do have various accounts, I have another Gmail one and a hotmail (which is probably expired since I haven't been in it in ages!) but my Yahoo one is the primary. Not sure why I use Yahoo, since we first installed the internet I searched for games, found Yahoo and just stuck with all of it's services. I hate it though, I get sooo much spam, they go to a spam folder but I still get a lot to my inbox. I would switch but everyone already has my email addy and it would be such a pain to get everyone to write me to a new one. I wish there was some system that automatically transferred every email from one account to another. It's possible with phone calls after all (referring calls to home from your work number, for example) so why not with emails? Hmm, me wonders.

Well I have my hotmail account which I use to contact friends and I just log into that via www.hotmail.com I also have about 7 other emails related to my hosting and 2 websites (www.calumneilson.com and www.computalk.net) such as webmaster [at] calumneilson.com I check all the email from my domain names using Mozilla Thunderbird and just connecting to my mail server. If I am away I can log into my cPanel and check them using webmail (Horde, Squirrel Mail or Roundcube).

I actually never use email retrieval software, such as Outlook. I simply log on to Yahoo/Charter and read my email. I guess it always seemed pointless for it to be automatically downloaded to my computer...maybe I just didnt look into the advantages of Outlook all that well. Exactly what makes outlook easier than just logging on to the Website?

I think there are still some advantages to use Outlook. At least you can save your emails when you are writing them. If there is any mistake or accident, at least you can keep it. If you login in website to respond emails, sometimes there will be some accidents and you have to write your emails again.
