would you ever lie to assist a friend in need?

I am wondering if you would find it easy or difficult to lie to a friend if they were to need you to, legally or otherwise.

i never tell lie to my friends.in my opinion, only truth and reality can teach and help them.maybe lie just lets them feel better temproarily, but in the long run,it's not good for them.so i never lie to them.because of this,i always make people angry and hate me and i also lose several friends.so sometimes i don't know whether i should stick to it or not.

I agree with all of you. I wondered because I have 2 exes, that would either hide the truth or outright lie and other horrible things. I wanted to know what normal people thought. (abusers aren't normal as some of us, they have problems that lead to them being abusers). I was actually beginning to think that I was abnormal because I wanted to tell the truth all of the time. I am moving on to far better relationships.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within" ...... What lies within King Stiffler07, is a very honest man. So to answer your question ......................................................................................................................................................NO!!!

I would first see what is the situation that she needed me to lie. If it is a very critical condition and I have to lie in order to save someone's life, reputation, or something huge, I think the lie is worthwhile. But if she wants me to tell a lie just to get away from school or something like that, I would not help her even if she's my best friend.

i will do anything for a friend, as long that it is legal and in accordance to what i think is right. sometimes, lying is necessary especially when a person is in dire need of it, and if in case my friend needs me to do it so, i would do it provided it is not against the law. this is not to tolerate her but to help her the best way i can without destroying both our lives.

You know I don't think I would, because in the long run it's not going to help them. It may only end up hurting them. Lying doesn't solve anything for the most part. Even some of the small lies end up hurting. As small as telling someone their dress looks fine to make them feel better, but if you're not being truthful they'll go out and be told by someone who isn't their friend how bad it looks, and could end up being laughed at. Shallow as it may be it happens. I mean I will admit I've lied to get myself out of trouble, but I only ended up hurting myself in the end. So I wouldn't really reccomend lying.
