Jennifer ~ you should look up this book and consider reading it.... I know you had a difficult childhood and it may help you to know you are not alone in this.

Yes, it is very disturbing to think about what some parents do to their children.

I haven't read this book but i have read the one written by his brother. i found it shocking and disturbing that anybody could inflict that sort of treatment on another human being, let alone your own child! Truly shocking but also very thought provoking and to me that is what good literature is all about.

I have heard about this book and that it is really good. I just can't bring myself to read it. I get very upset over stories of terrible things happening to children. It is a true story and I know the person grew into a happier life.... with that constantly in the back of my mind I may be able to read it some day. Right now I keep putting it off.

My child passed this book on to me last month. I felt so bad for the boy. I couldn't understand why the mother singled out one child and not have done what she did to him to all the children. And the father.. what the heck was his problem.. he didn't do a thing when the boy stood there in front of him bleeding from being stabbed and when he left he could have taken the boy with him even if he gave him to relatives or foster care - he would have been better off. I wanted to jump right in there and take the child away from that and give him the love he needed and deserved. I haven't got to read there other two(?) books yet and after what I read in the first one I am somewhat afraid to read the others.
