Another sad story of a parent not able to do there job right. I will never understand why some people even have kids. She was very selfish and has now lost her kids and will probably do jail time behind this. I hope she has learned her lesson when the courts are donw with her.

This particular mother is indeed an awful story and deserves what she got. But not all parents who are accused of this behavior are actually guilty.
A couple of years ago, on a flight from New Jersey to Denver, my son got very frustrated and wouldn't calm down. He started clawing my face and trying to dig at my eyes. Part of the problem was that he refused to drink anything or chew gum on the flight so his ears probably didn't pop. After awhile, I started slapping his hands when he would claw at me. When we landed in Denver, I was told to wait and informed that an EMT and FBI agents wanted to discuss my abuse of my son. Fortunately, the EMT saw nothing to indicate any abuse whatsoever (and the claw marks all over my face and the red/swollen eye helped him believe my side of the story, I'm sure). FBI ran my ID, found nothing in my background and let me go. Unfortunately my ex had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a traffic ticket so he was arrested.
Needless to say, I was P*SSED.

I am concerned about your son, was this new behavior for him or was he prone to out bursts like that? I cannot imanage what a terrible experiance that was for all of you. On top of that your ex got arrested. One family vacation ruined that day.
I hope I all is well now and you have better family vacations since then.

It was an unpleasant experience to say the least. And I'll never fly Northwest again. No matter how low the fare is.
The incident also made me say some pretty harsh things to/about the flight attendant, things that were incredibly out of character for me.

She needs to be slapped around. This was so unnecessary. She doesn't deserve children. I would have protected the children if I had been on that flight.

Why is it that some people have to be totally ignorant when it comes to children? I hope she doesn't ever see them again. thank you.

Another tragic case!!! This woman is out of her mind. I agree with you that some parents don't deserve to have kids. This "lady" (if you can call her that), this "mother" (I don't think I'd call her that either, definitely falls into the category of people (even THAT is too good to call her!!) who should NOT have kids, or be anywhere near kids. This kind of thing is really sad, and hard to take. This kind of behaviour needs to be stopped.

It was said that she appeared drunk and violent, so maybe she was actually drunk. maybe on other occassion she wouldn't hit her children like that, but this time I guess she went too far.

My dad use to have a saying "Fools names and fools faces alwasy show in public places." She was deffiantly being a fool.
I feel sorry for those children they probably love their mom and do not understand why mom is in jail and they are back in California with family members when all they want is their mom. Children just want their mom's to love them no matter what abuse the child has to endure.
Mom needs to go to jail and also get some parenting classes. NO matter what anyone of us say she is still the children's mom and will probably have some kind of contact with those children when she gets out of jail. I agree she should not have had children but we do not have to have a license or classes to get knocked up and birth thoses babies.

According to the story, she went too far.
But it did bring to my mind that fact that sometimes mom seem to be caught in a no win situation.
You're out at the grocery store. You're child is having a temper tantrum, you child is out of control.
People are walking by and giving you dirty looks and sometimes muttering because you have no control over your child.
YOu hear "If that were my child..."
If the things that were said in that story were accurate, she went to far. But I can't imagine trying to take my children on a flight when they were 2 and 4. I couldn't have done it.
These same people that are claiming she was abusing and slapping her children thougout the flight may well have been the same people who would have moaned and groaned about the mom who wouldnt control her noisy children.
Unfortunately, sometimes society makes it harder to parent than it should be.
