She wanted to see ME....:-(

old tree - Life is like a tree... counting down to fall one day...

I had another post about my eleder mom who passed away last friday night. She lived miles away with her children and grand children. So I haven't seen her for few years. A week before her death, when she was too weak in bed, one of her daughter (She had five daughters and two sons - my cousins) asked her as she had any wish to see anyone lastly. She said "yes, I want to see one" and she told my name. I knew it only today, four days after her death. I cried in silence for sometime, tears rolled down... I couldn't be there to fulfil her last wish to see me... She left without seeing me... I without seeing her... An old tree, fallen down... I am sure, she will wait for me there in the other world, till I reach there one day... Just thought to share it with you...

Dear sreevasu That's really sad to know :( .. Can understand how sad you must have felt after knowing all this .. Really sorry to know all this .. She will definitely wait for you in the other world as because her last wish remained unattended due to some reasons.

Thank you delords. She is my dad's elder brothers wife and I call her elder ma. Her son is working far away from my place and he took her with him few years back. It is not that easy to go and see her because of the distance... Any it happened like this to me... and thank for extending your sympathy...

it is sad that you didn't find out until it was too late, I think this is very unfair on the person that the request was told to, I think a last wish is ever so important, I know you probably feel bad but not as bad as the person that should have told you must feel...I have spent a lot of time with elderly people and I always say to to their loved ones to spend quality time with them, as much as you can as tomorrow may never come...

i am so sorry to hear this vasu. some things in life are irreversible and we cannot but get devastated at the thought of it. but then, this is life full of heartbreaks, hurts, could-have-beens...and ofcourse smiles and love that get us going. words are poor comforter and i donot know how to console you but my heart is with you in weeping. just do it and contemplate the good times you had with her. smiles....

My husband's grandmother sent a video once telling my husband she was waiting for him. Before he had a chance to get back home, she passed away. When we go to Cuba this Thursday, it will be the first time he will see her grave. He was unconsolable when she passed away. She was like a mother to him. I know your pain, and understand my friend. It is not your fault, and she I am sure she understands and is filled with nothing but love for you. My thoughts are with you my friend in this time. I wish there was more I could do.. sending you a big hug through the miles and warm thoughts...

You're very welcome. I don't know what your religion is, but I am Presbyterian (Christian/Protestant). I have been taught that the greatest gift of God's Holy Spirit is love. I have also been taught that the two greatest commandments are to love God, and to love your neighbors. If you know how to love, you're probably a good person. And if others love you, you're definitely a good person. Have you ever seen The Wizard of OZ? The Wizard said, "A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others." God bless!
