Can you spot a My Lot newbie?

For me, spotting the newbies on My Lot is always easy! Just one look at the stack of rehashed topics on the life or people forum is enough to realize that we have a fresh batch of "talent" among us. Being a newbie is more than that arbitrary number above your avatar. It's a state of mind that allows you to believe everything and anything you say in this place is fine. That feeling wears off very quickly! Let's face it, we were all newbies once. And, I blush at the newbie snafus that I took part in. All those horrible survey style questions (Coke or Pepsi debates) which have long been deleted along with any ill gained pennies that I earned. And, the late night frantic posting sessions just to reach the 500 mark, so I could copy/paste my discussions. Why? Most days I don't use the copy/paste function at all. What a waste! And, I must admit, when I first started out on My Lot, I was way too controversial. Or, so I have been told. So, what were your My Lot mess-ups when you first joined the site? Did you get into way too many needless arguments with others on My Lot? Did you double-post the same discussion in more than one forum? Did you copy/paste other people's discussions without realizing it was against the rules. I've made my confession for the day, so you do the same. What's the worst thing you did when you were a My Lot newbie?

I still consider myself a newbie, I just hope I'm not messing up big time, he he... I guess the worst thing I did was to participate in useless purposeless discussions, just for the fun of it. I'm not writing as a maniac just to get to the 500 posts, although I must admit I considered doing it for a day or two... And about fighting with people, I don't think I offended anyone yet. Everybody seems to find my responses "funny", altough I'm not that sure whether I am funny or it's just tha my english stinks, ha ha ha. =)

Humor is a very good trait to have on My Lot. Too many people take themselves (and everyone else) too seriously around here. Best to keep things light. Good plan! You'll do very well here.

I think you have a point there. But usually in my case I spot a newbie by the discussions they start. "Hi, I am new here" and other very similar discussions. Not to mention the low number of posts beside their usernames. I also check their profiles and can see exactly how long they have been members of mylot. And as you say, they have those one line discussions. "Are you happy", "Write your phone number here", "Will you be my friend, yes or no" and other similar hilarious discussions. But since they are new, they may have not yet fully understood how the system works and it is not like we all read the long guidelines when we signed up. I remember thinking that when I get to 500 I would be copying and pasting also, but so far I have only copied and pasted very long website addresses. Not that much of a difference from the pre 500 days.

Hi there. For me, spotting a newbie would be to look at the number of posts hes or shes made...
