why do people post things like- my dog is really sick what should I do - should I call the vet??? Or my friend passed out and we can't revive him should I take him to the hospital??? What are they thinking??? I have read a couple of these today alone and it's making me crazy- especially the ones about the animals-- come on people use your brain!!! Am I the only one who thinks this way????

Oh no you are not. I cant even read these discussions as they make me so mad. I used to answer a lot of questions on yahoos Q&A I used to tell those type idiots to get away from the bloody computer and take your animal to the vets. One night a few months ago one of my dogs was not eating her dinner. It was at night so her vet was closed and it was not a serious problem so I found an online vet service and they chat online about the problem and solved it. It cost me $9.00 but was worth it.

wow- maybe you should post the online vet url- I know that would be helpful to me- - not just for emergencies either....as you have seen from past experiences with my guys - it's always something and sometimes I just need more info then what the vet gave me.

Sweet they are writing these to make money and nothing else and you will probably find that they aren't even true I mean if my Friend passed out I would be on the Phone to the Ambulance not on the Computer to mylot and if my Dog was really sick I would be at the Vets with him not on mylot I would come on mylot after and inform People once he is fine but not when he is really sick These Discussions are just written to get responses and to earn money

I would love to believe that but for 10 years I worked in customer service and you cannot believe how stupid people really are- I would not put it past some of these people to not call a vet. I truely hope for the animals sake that its a bunch of crap!!!

I think they are just asking whatever pops into mind- like why would you come on mylot and ask- should I call 911?? I don’t understand it either – And I don’t respond to those.. if it were an emergency- the person would be gone prior to getting our responses- So yes it drives me crazy too- I try to make my discussions- things people actually like to talk about- or places I have been or something that interests me-

o yes and what did they do with their dogs BEFORE joining mylot? let them die of sickness?..makes no sense i have seen those discussions as well. Its not like i dont like people discussing their pets i love hearing stories about what pets are even kids do but this is too much...i see discussion like that and i have half a mind to say 'why dont you shoot him' LOL that will only end up in a mudslinging match so keep away and say a little prayer for the poor animal LOL

o no warmweatherwoman if you asked your friends and you contacted your vet you are just making a discussion about what happened...the discussion is about 'what do i do my pet is is sick' kind of ones...:)

I think those discussion you mention is the one that really gives us headcahe, because we think this person has multiple accounts. At least 8 accounts of them. if it's not about animal, could be about cars and in one account it can mention that she has late period and the next one she turn into man with young kids. I don't know. it's just crazy

I understand your frustration. I personally have not come across these kinds of postings. However...you would think common sense would prevail in these kinds of situations? If your pet is sick take it to the vet! If your friend passes out take him to the hospital! The End..

More proof that technology indeed makes us very very lazy. Although by the sounds of it, sorry but I only spend my time on Mylot reading and responding to my friends notifications so I don't tend to come across these, but they made me laugh, common sense is an asset it seems.

Lol..I think people are just trying to make a few cents from it, I just have a funny image of someone passing out and their friend's first thoughts being,'I should get help from Mylot'.!!

It is obviously not true, they are just making this up to get responses, what we need to do is NOT respond to these stupid discusissions because it just encourages them more..

I am happy to say that I haven't really seen any of these discussions myself but frankly I think that if someone has an emergency situation then the last thing they should be doing is sitting at the computer and asking the lovely people at mylot - the whole process uses up far too much time! Crazy! xxx

No shambuca, I totally agree. I don't understand why people post these discussions other than to just be posting. I am like you, "come on people use your brain"

This is the person i was referring to in my thread on mylot abuse. if you look into the profile under discussions you will see that this person has started several and if you really read thru...obviously just made up stuff. If you look at some others that are similar...same exact thing. One in particular here has already reached an 8star rep. and has done absolutely nothing but make up stuff. It would appear to be the same person with several accounts

Or how about the people that don't ever read any of the responses before posting their own, and they post THE EXACT same thing as the person before them, just a little different. Wheee!! LOL The animal ones piss me off, too. And I'm an animal lover! I ask questions that aren't as urgent, though. And, if it's a question of the real health of my dog or cats, I'm going to the vet AND THEN telling you guys all about it. LOL. Great topic to start, btw!

Yes I do the same- recently my lab hurt his leg (cruciate ligament)and AFTER taking him to the vet I posted a discussion asking if anyone elses dog had experienced the same problem, but only after taking him to the vet.

The person who is posting a lot of these silly questions about sick pets & being sick herself, is a bit of a scam artist. She is making up all her discussions, & doesn't reply to anyone. She has multiple accounts. I deleted her from my friends list. She has been reported to my lot admin,. & hopefully had been kicked out by now.

Hello! You are not the only one who thinks so because I have seen such 3 discussions today morning where they have asked what to do about their sick pets (dog, cat). Lol! I really laughed out to read those discussions because they were so idiotic questions. I mean when your pet is sick, take it to vet. I don't think their pets are going to be alright by their discussions. The reason for such discussions is I guess they may not be getting anything else to start a discussion...vani^_^

I was thinking of the same thing last night when I saw a discussion about this person's cat which apparently was just laying there and breathing rapidly! It was obvious something was wrong with the cat. The thing that annoys me is that they have the time to discuss about it first. They see their dying cat or dog or whatever, and instead of saying "I gotta bring it to the vet", they say "Oh wait, I'll discuss this on MyLot first and earn some money at the same time." Urghh...

Excuse me- BUT- I am one of the ones that asked for advice when my pit broke out into hives- NO - I didn't ask should I call the vet- that is an automatic- but I did it because I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced it and if so- did everything turn out alright- so if it bothers you that much- DON'T read those types posting- MOVE ON!!!!! Because with your attitude about it- your probably not welcome anyway ;0

ha thats something serious and a different experience i agree not everyday you get into a situation like and yes you wanted help but all this happened AFTER you contacted ur vet and took care of your pet :) the discussion about people who ask 'my pet is sick can you please help?'
