I spent Friday the 13th packing and loading my friends stuff into a U-Haul truck. The next morning, we left to go to New York. I forgot to set the alarm clock and got up late. My daughter was sick the whole day before was still feeling ill, so we stopped to get her some pepto and Dramamine. We got breakfast but she did not feel like eating right then.
We had no troubles after we finally got on the interstate and got to stop for the night at a nice Travellodge. Pizza Hut even delivered to our room. The breadsticks were burnt, but they brought us some fresh ones that were the BEST I have ever gotten from any Pizza Hut any where.
We got up the next morning refreshed and feeling much better. We got back on the road again. I kinda liked driving the 14 foot truck. I was sore but I liked it anyway! lol
The trip was not too eventful at all. No accidents, no great boo-boos, we never lost each other on the road. The worse that happened was when I blinked my lights at her (meaning one of us needed to stop to visit the rest room). She took the next exit. The ony problems was that it was not an exit, but an on ramp to another highway!! LOL Even that was not a disaster. We stopped at the next exit, and ate luch and got directions back to 71N, no biggie at all.
When we got there we all sat around for a bit then got to unloading the truck. The 4 of us plus Debby's mom, (step) dad, sister, nephew, aunt, and uncle helped, so it did not take very long at all. After we got finished we took the U-Haul back and then Tara and I went with Debby's mom and nephew and step dad to get something to eat. I got a 'beef on weck' and was not to happy with it, but did not complain. My daughter was feeling sick again and could not eat her salad and fries, so we took it with us, and went to Debby's sisters house. I was to stay there with my daughter. We had a great time. We talked about a lot of things as we all sat on the front porch. When their mom left we ate supper and sat in the back yard. She mentioned going and looking at her raspberries. They were in a big patch beside her back yard.
The first one I ate was SOOO good. I had never eaten fresh raspberries before and found them even better than our local blackberries. I ate more than I put in our cup!LOL We agreed that in May when Debby comes down, she will send a raspberry plant and I will send a blackberry plant.
It was a lot cooler there than here. The fire was nice though, and it wasn't very bad. Debby and Marty left, Tara was asleep and Barbs son was playing video games, so it was just me and Barb left. We sat up till midnight talking about everything under the sun! I found that I really like her and am glad we had time to get to know each other a bit better.
The trip home went great as well. We came home through West Virgina where we had come up through Ohio. We saw Elk and Buffalo on the way out in the morning. We went trough two long tunnels (photo of one included if it loads, lol) and over a couple of toll roads. These were all new experiences for my daughter. She had been through tunnels but not as long as these where.
Tara refused to leave the motel the morning or our trip home. I had to resort to the belt. Even that did nothing. I had to literally drag her out of the room and put her in the car. That mean, evil child left after a couple of hours and our angel came back. Thank Goodness!! We got home about 2 pm and I went straight to bed. I was so tired. It was a long trip and a tiring as well.
I have been best friends with Debby since 1991 and I have never known anyone that I stayed close to (except my family) for so long. I will miss her greatly. At the same time I know that this move is the best thing for her. She will have her family around her and they will be able to care for her better then I could here. She has to have surgery on her heart soon and will need constant care for a while. She has several other health problems and will be staying in a apartment that is for the disabled and elderly. They have call buttons in case of emergency. Her mom is just about 1/2 a mile away. She will be better off there. I am happy for her in that respect, and sad that we can not just pick up the phone and chat for hours at a time about nothing.
We did talk this morning though. For 69 minutes to be exact! LOL We both had a lot to say! It may be a while before we get to talk again, so I am taking notes on things I want to tell her. Of course knowing me I will not be able to find the list when we are on the phone, but will find precisely 2 minutes after we hang up!

I got tired just reading about your trip. I can only imagine you were exhausted to say the least. Glad Pizza Hut replaced the bread sticks. I hate it when restaurants give you poor quality food. Bet they did not expect you to call back and tell them about it. LOL Good for you.

They tried to tell me that they come that way and they can not change the way their oven cooks it. And that was the manager! I said"Excuse me. but I eat at Pizza Hut all the time, and I know that they can come lighter brown than this! They .."
That was all it took. She said she would try to make it right and send them back out. They sent a large order and I had ordered a small. They really were the best I have EVER gotten and I eat them quite a bit.The first ones were the worst ever, but they more than made up for it!
