It helped my Asthma!!!

A friend of mine told me about drinking apple juice and how some studies had found that it can help prevent asthma in children. She said that since she had become a mommy (3 boys) she had noticed a difference in her asthma and she realized that at snack time she'd been drinking apple juice with her boys. My asthma had always been worse than hers but I figured I'd give it a try since I've been looking for more natural ways to help. So I tried it, around that time I'd gotten a refill on my inhalor (ProAir HFA... the new albuterol eco-friendly inahlor) and since the new albuterol inahorls are a lot smaller than the old ones were I was thinking great well I'm screwed. See the new ones I pay $37 for, the old ones I'd get for $10 and generally I've never had an inhalor last me longer than 3 weeks. I've been on them all my life. Well I started to drink apple juice, at least a glass a day plus if I was feeling any asthma symptoms then I would drink another glass. I was talking to my mom the other day about it and noticed that I have been using my current inhalor for 9 weeks and I'm still on the very same inahlor. Granted it's going empty but that's 6 weeks longer than I've ever used them before and before I started the orange juice, they were only lasting 2 weeks, so now it's lasted me nearly 5 times as long as it was before. Which means I've saved nearly $185 but more importantly that I'm feeling better!!! This is huge for me! I still have asthma symptoms and if I haven't had apple juice for a while then I can tell the difference right away. But as long as I'm drinking the apple juice, I find that it's really helping me out. Now I've read up on some of the studies and it seems that only apple juice will do this, not apples or apple sauce, there seems to be some chemical when it's in it's juice form. I buy the frozen concentrate and make it in a reusable container (It's more enviromentally friendly, saves energy used to make the bigger containers and therefore saves trash. To do it this way and saves me over $2.00 per container, I go through about 3 2-qt containers a week so it saves me roughly $24 monthly.) and I'll have it when I wake up and before bed and during the day if I'm feeling a little wheezy or out of breathe. I'm so excited that this has worked after 20+ years of having to depend 100% on steroids (which made me more sickly in other ways and gave me fat that I can't burn off) and pure chemicals. I've tried lots of natural things and nothing worked and to have something so simple (and inexpensive) do the trick, well it just means the world to me. I hope this can help others too!

hm, thats cool...i will have to try this, it sounds interesting. while i am not bothered by asthma too much (just on extremely hot or cold days and when i have a cold), this would be a great thing to help me breathe a little more clearly... how long have you been doing this?

I have been doing it for 9 weeks and it's made a big difference. I do breath a lot clearer, it's nice to be able to take a normal breathe.
