Yes, I did watch it. Probably on reruns on television. I was too young to watch it in the theater. It was beautiful and I still know the song by heart... Where do I begin to tell the story of how great a love can be? A sweet love story that is older than the sea...well, at least part of it. Thanks for posting this and for bringing up sweet memories, at least for a brief moment!

I guess that I was around 12 years old when I watched it the first time..my sister was 10 years older then I. She developed a type of cancer and had to go to Duke hospital in Durham NC for 3 months.My Mom and I visited her every week-end. It was horrible..but she is totally fine now..but she looked so much like that actress and was newly married when I saw the movie...

I had not seen it at the Theater, but waited until it came out on the Movie Channel. That was when they were first out in Canada and was when my husband and I had bought our first house in Saskatoon. I really got into it, their courtship, and their marriage and Ali discovering that she cannot get pregnant and the reason is that she is dying of cancer and in spite of all the medical treatments, nothing can be done. It was so sad. I would start to bawl and couldn't stop.
