What interesting things has your cat brought home to you?

My cat comes home with his coat covered with every seed in the neighborhood. If Noah had had my cat on the Ark, he could have repopulated the earth with cats and plants all at the same time. He also came home with an interesting critter. It had small front legs, longer back legs, and a really long tail. He kept his foot on its tail and the mouse kept jumping up and down. Reminded me of a Tom and Jerry routine. The last time my cat made our life interesting was when he brought home a Maine cat mix that was 3 times his size through the cat door. Unfortunately, his girlfriend wasn't potty trained. So what interesting things has your cat brought home?

A long time ago, when I was still a baby we had a cat that would bring my mom...some new friends. When I say friends I mean pigeons and tarantulas! They would always still be a live, my cat wouldn't kill them. She just brought them into the house and walked around until she found my mom. My mom would take the critters from her and put them back outside! lol. That cat has long passed :) My cats now don't really do that, but they aren't allowed outside here :) They are indoor cats now!

Yep Yep! hehe. I was still a baby when my cat did this, but my mom would tell us stories! It always surprised me that she never killed the animals, she was a great cat!

I was working the other day, a man said his cat brought home a turtle last year. It was about 3 inches from tail to the top of its head. Now it's over a foot long and it's a snapping turtle.

Tarantulas! They must know how to carry them so they don't get bitten. Your cat wanted to bring your Mom some more pets huh? That's amazing.

i had a male cat that would bring me weird things and leave them on the door mat for me to find in the morning while leaving to go to work. one time he must have killed a mouse and left half of it for me! it was like he was sharing. i find more males bring things home than the females it is like they are trying to please their owners more.

Cats can be very thoughtful. I'm sure he was sharing, too. Female cats tend to have baby cats to worry about. Therefore, I think they're designed to be more aloof. But males do seem to tend to want to make us happy. Thank you for responding.

It has been quite a while since we had our cat, that was when we were in Saskatoon. We had just got him, and when we did, he was not more than a kitten, so he thought I was his mother. So one time, I opened the door and there he was with a mouse in his mouth, showing me it as if he was proud. He also ate spiders, bugs, etc. and yes we did feed him. He was an outdoor cat, a regular tabby and a good mouser.

He sounds like he was a great cat. Tabbies are neat, I had a male tabby back in the 80s and he was mostly outdoor too. Love how great those mousers are. Thanks for responding.

I am amazed at my cats. They constantly come home with cactus spines stuck in them. And they don't mind when I yank the the spines out, either. I have walking pincushions that call themselves felines.

Wow! And ouch! I like the walking pincusions line. I guess it's a good thing my cat doesn't live in the desert. I'd be taking cactus spines out of him, too. That's one I've never heard of before. Thank you for responding.

My cat, Rusty was about six months old,and loving the outdoors. I was still concerned and worried about my decision to let him go outside. One afternoon I heard a scratching at the door and there stood master Rusty with his head held high and a bird in his mouth. Placing the bird on the floor,he looked at me as if saying, "you were asking about dinner".

Yes, they really do understand-I'm certain. One time, my brother told his dog, "We're out of money for food, and I don't have any money to buy you or me any." The dog went out, got a rabbit and brought it home. That dog never brought anything home before or since. Yes, letting them roam free or keeping them indoors is a difficult decision. That could be another entire discussion topic.
