I totally agree, that is why I never sang that lullaby, I really don't know why anyone would sing it, it makes no sense at all. I personally think it would traumatize a small child thinking their parent is going to put them in a tree and let them fall. I know some people say it is just a song but with the words in music today it is proven fact that children are affected by what they hear. I personally like Twinkle Twinkle little star.

lol I think that is a really interesting topic as I myself have thought about this. It is always some tragic happenings in these stories we sing to our children. And yet they are sang in such a peaceful manner that the child would never really pick up on what is really being said, instead, they are just concentrating on the soft voice. Maybe todays problems with crime and violence is not those aweful cartoons and videogames the kids played, yet, it was those nasty nursery rhymes that was sang to them as infants. It places all sorts of terrible acts into their minds. hehe. Never know. Good topic!

YEs i think that is really strange....i really do all those nursery ryhmes are a bit creepy and out there ...i think a frustrated parent must have came with these nursery ryhmes...but those songs work...probably the baby feels that the song is sung for it to go to sleep...but whatever the case the baby still falls asleep...Most of the time...
