you remember, I was worried sick about letting my daughter and her friend fly out to me by themselves when neither one of them had flown before. Well, they flew on United, and they were so helpful! I didn't know but they gave me a guest pass so I could walk them all the way to their gate. I stayed with them until they got on the plane and watched it take off. My mom also did this with them on the other end. I did not know United allowed this. It's only if the youngest child is 13 or older. My daughter is almost 17 and her friend is a year younger. I just wanted to let everybody know about the guest pass, and thank everybody for their comments.

yes some airlines are really nice about this. i had a friend who is quite petite and once a stewardess asked her whether she needed help and accompaniment! she just gently said she was above 21 thank you very much. i was so tickled! i've seen some really small kids like under 12 fly alone too. they are really brave!

I knew about guest passes because I am disabled and they let my PCA come with me, so I can go to the bathroom (I can't do that on my own). They let disabled people of age and minors do that. Sorry I forgot to tell you about that.

I didn't know about those guest passes either. That is really a good thing for them to offer. I'm glad your daughter and her friend made it to you safely hon. Now you can stop holding your breath, and relax for a while. LOL Hugs to you hon.
