0 calorie Sodas VS. Diet

I really like drinking sodas or carbonated drinks like coke, mountain dew, pepsi, etc. However, I learned from a diet book that these drinks (even when they say 0 calories) would still make you gain weight therefore, should be avoided at all times. It said that if you are on a diet, the first thing that you should get rid off is drinking soda. Is this true? P.S. I have been soda free for a month now. It's hard but I am holding up

i drink nothing but water. i suffer from premenstrel bleeding all year round. this means i hate men all the time but want lots of loving from the food kind. i suggest you screw men and drop soda.
