I have never read the reviews or the plot of this show before I watched the movie over the weekend. So I did not have much expectations when I put the movie on. This is my take on the movie. The show started with a very good introduction, giving the viewer some impression that the movie is going to be about the fight and battles between the Police and the rebels. The beginning sequences of the movies re-enforces this introduction and we are all happily awaiting an epic clashing between the rebels and the police to see who will win in the end. So there I was, happily watching the show, expecting a very big fight sequence between the rebels and the police till the two main characters, wind and Mei, got captured. Then comes the anti-climax. The story of a rebel revolution vs the police catching them took a 180 degree turn. It became a romance movie and the battle became a fight for one woman's affection between two men! What a turn of events. From that point onwards, the story became draggy. The scenes in the show is really nice. The colors are attractive and the costumes designs are intricate and beautiful. But the storyline, IMHO, sucks big time. Have you watched it? What do you thing of the movie?

i haven't watched it and don't intend to. this reminds me of another chinese movie though. it's called Hero. Did you watch it? well, all i can say is that the trailers were much more worth watching than the movie itself *yawn*. The colours looked great, but call it artistic licence or whatever, it just looks weird when the whole scene is in almost just one colour. red curtains in the palace, all the characters dressed in red, etc etc.

at least in Hero, the story line was consistent. Jet Li's character is all for getting his revenge and the different versions of his journey makes it okay to watch. At least the fight scenes were better. I find the camera works of Flying Daggers a little on the messy side. We cannot catch every move of the fighter's move clearly as compared to Hero or Crouching Tiger. The twist in the Flying Dagger acts like a cold blanket as well. What an anti-climax! Other than the beautiful scenery and the colorful sets, I found it a waste of time watching this show!

yeah, I saw this movie before and since i am a sucker for chinese martial arts movies, I really really love it. The fight in the bamboo forest was awesome. The actress zhang ziyi and actor takeshi were both gorgeous. It does not really sucks for me. I like the twist and kind of a good love story.
