A woman was attacked by her ex-boyfriend on the street. I went to her help because her ex was trying to harm her severally. One of my friends who was with me thrashed her ex-bf. Her ex-bf left without doing much harm but she had knife cut on her right forearm. We took her to near by clinic. She was dressed. She also sustained sprain in her left leg. We dropped her home by taxi. She made a complaint to the police and asked us to hand over the same personally to Officer In Charge of the Police station. She also requested us not to hand over the complaint to any other officer except the Officer in charge. Since we never had been to Police Station, she directed us as to how reach Police Station. When we informed the Front Desk Oficer that we wanted to meet the Officer In Charge, he directed the room of the OC. When we entered the Officer In Charge room was shouting at somebody over phone. On seeing us, he stared at us and started shouted at a high pitch voice "GET OUT, DO NOT ENTER MY ROOM WITHOUT MY PERMISSION". We stood there dumbfounded. Again he said the same thing. We said that we had been asked by a woman to hand over a complaint to you personally. "WHAT THE HELL THAT WOMAN CONSIDER HERSELF, AS IF MY WIFE" GET OUT AND HAND OVER THE COMPLAINT TO THE FRONT DESK. Again we waited and said, "SHE REQUESTED US TO HAND OVER THE COMPALINT PERSONALLY ONLY TO YOU". He came running to us and snatched the complaint paper and was about to tear it. Abruptly, he said, "YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME, WHO HAD SENT YOU. Please come and sit. We were bewildered by his behaviour. He ordered us for coffee. He gone through the complaint. Again he said, he was sorry for his bad behaviour. My friend asked him who was that lady sent you the compalint through us. MY WIFE, HE SAID.

Very strange and a little funny ending, but the thing that struck me most was that you and your friend took the trouble to do all that for a stranger in these times when people do not stop to help a girl being molested before their eyes.
