Shampoo and condition my hair everyday

How many of you here in do really shampoo and condition your hair everyday? As for me, it is just one of my excesses in life that I just can't let the day pass without shampooing and conditioning my hair. Some would be okey to just apply shampoo on their hair but I won't be. I just have to have plenty of conditioner too because I can't feel comfortable when my hair is not soft and easy to brush... and I just have to do it everyday even if I don't feel well. Gee... its really vanity they say. So how about you? I heard that lots of people who live in cold countries don't wash their hair for months. LOL! is this true?

I condition and then wash my hair (yes, I do it backwards) every other day. My hair is too thin to stand up to daily washing. When I condition first and then wash it (I have extremely dry hair), my hair is silky soft. The idea was in a magazine for us older folks whose hair has become dry and brittle over time. In the Northern most areas of the United States, it gets cold for a few months of the year, even sub-zero Fereigheight (spelling?). But most of our homes are well-heated and we can dry our hair before we go out. I don't stop washing my hair during cold months. I just have to plan ahead and wash my hair earlier or it will freeze into a cardboard-like mass outdoors. Then I'll freeze later on.

I have noticed also that my hair becomes brittle when exposed to colder temperature for a long time. This is the first time also that I get to know of someone who actually do it backwards. I thought that it is always best and healthier for ones hair to be conditioned after shampoo. Well, we just have to do what really works for us and in your case its doing it backwards. LOL!

My hair is thin too and dry. How I wish I have hair like my sister, thick and shiny. I may try your way of doing your hair. Thanks for the tip and may your hair become thicker too.

Glad I made you laugh. I have that affect on people. If your hair is dry and brittle, give it a try. Backwards may work for you, too. You may have to wash your hair twice afterward, it depends on how heavy the conditioner is. As a blond with some brown strands and lots of gray coming in (can you picture all that? I'm a 3-colored cat!), if I don't use light conditioner, it takes forever for my hair not to feel like glue. Take care and I appreciate your open-mindedness. I wash mine every other day because if I wash it everyday it dries out to easy but if I don't wash it at least every other day it gets oily and fast yuck. Having parents who are both hairstylists I have learned a little bit about hair myself.

I wash my hair every night and let it dry naturally before I go to bed, I don't feel clean unless my hair has been washed and being on the oily side my hair always looks better when it has been washed.

I feel the same. Even if I take a bath 3 times a day and not shampoo my hair, I still feel unclean and I actually feel heavier. I guess it is just a feeling but I am sure that our hair do look better after its been shampooed and conditioned.

Most of the time I shampoo my hair twice, sine I bathe twice a day, I belive I have to was the dirt I accumulated during the day so it's been a habit for me to take a bathe very night. But conditioner? I apply conditioner every other day, I was once like you,I conditoned my hair a lot and I notice I get dandruffs so I made it every other day. :)

We have conditioners here that really prevents dandruffs so I find that it is okey to condition my hair. As to shampooing my hair 2x a day, I find that would be too much for me and may make me bald and loose all my hair. LOL! I hope you are not losing much of your hair. thanks for responding!

i do.i shampoo my hair everyday. I have very fine, oily hair and it gets very greasy after just a few hours. Sometimes I'll even wash it twice a day.

I do think that washing ones hair once a day is the maximum washing that our hair should be subjected to. I was told several times that its just not good for my hair to be shampooed everyday but I still do it. Maybe you could just wash it then put some conditioner but no shampoo if you do it the 2nd time around in a day.

I shampoo every week only but I conditioner everyday.. :) They say shampooing everyday is not good for your hair.. and I have proven it myself.. my hair gets dry when I shampoo everyday.. experts say you should also hot oil your hair every month but I don't do it.. heheheheh.. for alternative, I shampoo my hair with beaten egg yolks at least every month.. :)

I have tried the egg yolks too with my hair but I find it really gross and smelly. I was told that I should shampoo my hair less often because it is not really good for ones hair that I could never do it only once a week. Though I have tried putting only conditioner when I wash my hair but I feel that it is not totally clean when I dont shampoo it and then condition. It may be only in my mind but gosh! I just want to be comfortable with myself all the time. I am glad that you could do it once a week and I bet that is indeed more beneficial for your hair.

I do. It’s been a habit and as habits go, they can’t be rid of that easily. Not to mention that I am not really trying to get rid of it. Shampoo and conditioner has become part of my morning ritual ever since I can remember. Although it has been said that shampooing daily is bad for the hair, I still can’t get rid of it. So I compromised by using just a little shampoo a day. As for the conditioner, using just a little seems to be ineffective so I still use the normal amount.

I also try to use as little shampoo as I could but sometimes, I just throw caution to the winds and apply as much shampoo as I want. I actually think that my hair feels better with lots of shampoo. Again, its just a feeling that I have and it might get me bald someday because of too much shampoo. LOL!

Personally I wouldn't leave my hair for months, but I wash and condition mine every other day. I think doing it every day leaves my hair too greasy if I do happen to let one day go without washing it. Also if I shampoo my hair I absolutely have to condition it as well otherwise it stays too tangled and is very static all day.

I could never ever imagine myself not washing my hair for months either. Gosh! it must smell. lol! Though there are times when I don't condition my hair but its very rare. Like you, I just can't stand my hair feeling brittle and hard and too tangled.
