How long can you work at a stretch. As for me, I would sit for working on something that suits my interest and would forget hours eliding . I am capable of working for three hours at a stretch. After a brief interval of time, I can very well be back to what I was doing and enjoy it further for three hours or so .

I can sit for many hours too. When it is my day off, I can sit at my laptop from morning till late at night. When I am really very tired, I will stand up for a little while before I go back to my laptop. But I know that it is not good for my health. I am trying not to sit so long hours for the sake of my enjoying a good health.

I could probably work for three to four hours at a stretch. I would need to have coffee with me, & I would need to be working on something I really like, such as computing. I would need to have toliet breaks though. My computer chair is fairly comfortable & I sit properly, so I don't get an aching neck or back.

I have been sitting one whole stretch since 10am. It is 3.15 pm now. I break to buy lunch just 30 mins ago. Now it is lunch while logging on to mylot. The reason for the long hours without break is that I am doing some testing and do not want to be disrupted in case the train of thoughts are distorted. Where to find such good employee. LOL.

Dear Sukumar794, I am 62 years old. Still I am working as an Chief Accounts Officer in a private organisation. Since it is accounts job, every day I should keep the accounts on line, therefore I work at a stretch in computer more than 4 hours. Every day I reach the office by 10 Am and if I sat before computer, upto 2 pm I work without taking break. After having my lunch I complete the job by 4 Pm. In certain days, without lunch break I used to work upto 4pm. Those things are depending upon the necessity of completing the work load.

It all depends on what I am working on sometimes 4 hours some times 5 hours.. times flies though when you are working at something.. I remember a time i worked 6 hours straight with no break by the time I was done though I was really tired out.. So I've tend not to work as long when doing so.. I cut my time in half so I wasn't so tired afterwards..Good quiestion!

If I'm really engrossed in something that I am doing, time slips by and before I know where I am many hours may have gone by. :-)

If I am working on something I like I do not keep track of time and end of working for 8 hours. I have gotten up just to go to the bathroom. I have been outside working in my garden for hours on end.

well i am afraid that i am the one who opposites you. i can not sit for long hours. if i sit for some while without rest, my whole body will hurt, especially my neck and my back. maybe i will hold longer when i am doing what i like, but i am the one who needs frequently exercises or switching my attention, or i would be tired.
