What is this world coming too?

What happened to family meals where the whole family sits at the dinner table for supper? What happened to cooking a meal from scratch for the whole family? When you go to do your weekly shopping these days it seems people purchase more foods that need to be heated in the microwave and not in the oven. You have your 100's of different kinds of soup or cereals, potatoes in a box, or canned veggies or even canned meat, you even have frozen foods that you heat and eat. I mean really what is this world coming to anyway? Everything is made so easy these days. You know they have a liner for your crock pot so you don't even have to wash the crock pot after you use it. They have throw away everything any more. If they keep making things so easy, how are our children going to learn what life is about? Do you teach your children how to really cook or just how to heat it and eat it? Now a days most children don't even have chores to do, in which they are not learning any kind of responsibility. My children all had chores to do, but they would complain because 90% of their friends didn't have to do chores. Not to mention those same chore less children ask for things or money and it gets handed to them for free. Which means that is what they think the world should do, hand them anything they want on a silver platter. We as a people need to teach our children better, because, can you just image what the world will be like when these children grow up and run this world ours. What do you think will happen? I have friends that say it's just easier to give their kids money to go and get what they want, then they don't have to listen to their wining and what not. My belief is if we should go back about 20 or 30 years, when the children had to do chores before breakfast and chores after school. Those children knew what work was and knew how to work for whatever they wanted in life. They just did not have things handed to them when ever they wanted something. I mean watch an old movie to see what I am talking about, life is just to easy for kids now a days. Like my children, they understand nothing is free, if we don't work for the funds to purchase things, they don't receive anything. Now I do realize that most families have 2 working parents and it is hard to get everyone to the table for a meal. But I remember When I was a little girl all the evening meals we had the whole family sat at the dinner table and would talk to one another about our day and what not. These days there just does not seem to be time to have a close family with all the activities the kids or parents participate in. We need work on having closer family ties, let's not give the kids what ever they want with out teaching what life is all about. I believe we should all try harder to teach our kids that they are loved by giving them chores to earn an allowance or to earn something that they really want. It seems to me if a child works for something they really wanted they take better care of it when they get it, because they know that it isn't free. If you give them something for nothing they don't seem to take care of it as if when they had to work for it. Please feel free to give me your comments on this world that is becoming just to easy.
