My Son Is 5 Today!

Time sure flies by when you're having lots of fun. I can't believe he is 5 already and no longer my little baby. Since it's just the two of us today, we are going to ChuckEcheese to have some fun and games. Hopfully this time next year he would of made some friends so that we can have a big celebration for his birthday.
It was very nice to receive presents from his Grandparents on both sides, his Aunties and Uncles and especially from his Daddy, who is currently overseas in Africa. It was nice to wake up to birthday calls this morning from Africa, New Zealand and Australia as well.
Anyways, just wanted to share this special day with everyone. Have a nice one!!

Happy birtday toyour son! Glad tohearhis day has been so good. I'm sure he was extremely happy to get that call from Africa. I know just what you mean about them growing up so fast. My oldest will be 12 on her next birthday and my youngest is already 8 1/2 months. In jus the past two weeks he has gotten 3 new eeth, started sitting, hands and knees crawling AND pulling himself up to stand! It seems like he was jus born.

Thank you foxyfire! We had a blast today and had so much fun. My ankles are sore but it was well worth it. Yup they sure do grow up fast, next thing I know he will be leaving for University - Aargh!

Thank you Rozie! We did have a really good time there and now we both are buggered. I have sore ankles and he is laying down on the couch. It was so much fun.

Happy Birthday Big Guy. We used to go to ChuckEcheese when my kids were little. It was alot of fun. I want to take my grandsons sometime, and I am sure they will have fun there also..I am so glad that everyone could call him this morning to wish him a happy birthday..it would have been nice if his daddy would have been there to share it with him..Hope you had a wonderful day..

Thank you Feona. His Daddy was a little upset because he could not be here to celebrate it with us, but has made other plans for us when he gets back. He will be taking us all to Seaworld in Orlando Florida and has booked the flights and all. We are just as excited as he is and can't wait to go second week of August.
We did have a wonderful day today, 3-4 hours at Chuck E Cheese, first time visit too. Now we are home relaxing and I'm trying to massage my ankles as they are very sore LOL but it was worth it all in the end. I don't think my son will ever forget this day.

Thanks ang_2906! My son and I had a great day!!! 3-4 hours of play, fun and games and pizza and drinks too, now my ankles are soooo sore from standing and watching him play as well as joining in too. I can't believe I had so much fun too!

I hope your son has a good birthday today. I can remember when my sisters son turned 5 and we took him there too. Its a great place for birthdays. Now my nephew is 17. And they live in another state Florida boy do I miss them. Have a great day with your son today.

Even though it was just the two of us, we had a GREAT time. I now have sore ankles from standing and watching him play as well as joining in. We were trying to collect as many tickets as we could and managed to get a spiderman pencilcase, with pencil and rubber and a little baby dinosaur. Was cute.

I hope your son knows how lucky he is. My mother is really the only one who makes an effort for my kids' birthdays. My mother-in-law will send a money order in the mail - IF she remembers. Sometimes my sisters will send a card. But basically it's just our family unit that celebrate the occasions.

I hope you both had a great day.
They are lovely at this age as they start to develop funny little personalities and want to become more independent. I remember when my son was 5 yrs, he had just started infant school and off he went each day for his own little adventures in school. He's 14 yrs now and refuses to be seen out with me now!!LOL
Enjoy each moment it goes tooooo quickly.

My pleasure.
I am green with envy as I wish I could have those times again, but what is great is now when my kids tell me what they remember and it makes me feel good to know I was a good mum to them.

Happy Birthday to your son!!
They really do grow up fast... My oldest just turned 8. I can't believe I'm the mother of an 8 year old, it just seems like the other day he was a cute little baby. My middle son turns 6 in September and my youngest is 2 1/2.

Sorry to be so late responding but tell your son that we wish him a "Happy Birthday, Belated" I hope that you all had a wonderful day and we wish him many, many, more! It is nice to hear that he got phone calls and gifts although people could not be there with him. They sent their love and that is what means the most. Bless you both! Take care...

I think five is a great age. so much fun. and cute things that they say and do at that age. i think the hardest years are before one, and 12-19 when they can be (we can be) absolute terrors. before 12 the naughtiness is usually managable.

His name is actually Madison and we call him Maddy for short LOL. Thank you squaretile for the birthday wishes. We did have a great time yesterday. I am not sure if I am ready for him to be a teenager yet so i'll make the most of him now :) Thanks again.
