I have been in bangalore for just 2 months and i came to know that the city life is as such boring.........whenever we ask someone wht r the places to visit in bangalore they tell u malls as malls are gr8 places to visit. But there is more to bangalore if u r in bangalore u can visit trekking places like makalidurga and Kalavaharibetta.. These are the places I have visited and u have wonderful adventure clubs which u can contact and organize the trek..

Good judgement; it took mesome more time to out of the supposed "good" weekend destination within Bangalore (call them "Malls") :-) In addition to what you have mentioned, you can include Nandi Hills, kolar, shimoga, Madhikere. try to go to Kokkarebelluru (close to Mysore) in addition to Ranganathittu - these are not trekking spots but have a lot of birds.

you can go and see the waterfalls at hoginakkal.. There is a wonderful trekking group by the name BMC i.e. Bangalore Mountaineering Club which arranges trekking on weekends and prices are really nominal. If you need any help please put a message
