How often do you copy/paste your responses?

Just awhile ago, I was surfing around My Lot and noticed that one member had copy and pasted the same basic "thank-you" reply to everyone that had visited their discussion. Personally, I would never do this, because I feel it would be an insult to the people that have taken time to respond. It's not that hard to think up an original one sentence reply for each response. Why not take a minute to respond in a genuine manner? That will keep people coming back. My opinion is that if you really don't want to respond to people who drop by your discussion, then you really shouldn't. Not everyone has the time to babysit discussions. But, if you are going to respond, then you should use a little originality, even only to be polite.
When you copy and paste the same reply to everyone that drops by, it just looks bad.
What do you think? Are you guilty of copy/pasting your replies for your own discussions? Have you seen many other members do that? How does it make you feel when someone simply copy/pastes the same "thank-you" reply?

I never done this for a few reasons. First of all like you said it does come across as a bit rude to the people who put effort into their responses. But, and a lot of people don't understand this, the biggest reason not to do this is because it's against the guidelines. Using copy/pase to leave identical responses is against the guidelines. Saying "thank you" and nothing else to each response is against the guidelines. "Technically" these kind of things should get reported and I'm sure some people do report them. I personally just use the - to rate them instead.

That's a very good point! Yes, it is against the guidelines to leave the "thank you" response to every reply. They tell us not to do it, yet, so many My lot members still insist on doing so.

And, with every deleted discussion, goes all those pennies!

Ok I am really guilty about not commenting on my responses for a really long time. But at least when I do finally get to responding to them I don't copy and paste the same generic thank you response. I think that just shows a sign of laziness and that you don't really care about how people respond.

I agree, copying/pasting a short thank you is tacky. I wouldn't do that. I'm getting closer to the 500 mark so I will be allowed to copy/paste. I don't know at this time when I would do that, although sometimes I cut a paragraph because I want to move it and then realize I can't paste it yet. Then I have to remember what I wrote. In those cases copy/past would be helpful.
