Just busin at the seams to share my exciting news

Hi everyone, Well, I have only been on mylot for a few days now, but I really have some exciting news to share. I am a mother of a special needs adult child. She is now 20. It has been a very long road, but now she is older and we moved to another state. She was accepted into a program to live in a group home. We went last week to visit and see if it was the kind of place she would like. Well, she loved it and tonight we are going to dinner with the other 3 ladies that will be her roommate. She is baking cookies to bring. This is such a huge step in all our lives, I just needed to share it with you all. Any other parents out there of a special needs child/adult? Would love to put you on my friends list and share some interesting things I have learned over the years, or maybe to just chat.
