My baby is sitting unassisted and then some!

About two weeks ago I think I started a discussion about how my youngest wasn't sitting unassisted just yet but that I wasn't worried because all babies do things at different times and when they are ready. Well! He has had a very busy couple weeks! First of all he got three more teeth so he has four now. He started sitting unassisted and can sit himself up. He went from doing a commando style crawl to a real hands and knees crawl. AND he is pulling himself up to stand! Oh and he started clapping and waving bye-bye! I can't believe how fast he's growing up all of a sudden!

It's been such a busy month it's been hard to keep track, I guess it just FELT like 2 weeks! I hadn't thought about it being like a birthday present from him...that's a really sweet thought! Thanks!

How wonderful..He is so precious..All you wanted was for him to sit up unassisted and he added a few more things for you to enjoy..I love it when they get new teeth. I wish my teeth were still that baby white..I love it when they wave too! They do grow up fast. Thank you for sharing..

He is great! I'm a little undecided about how happy I am about his teeth since I'm still nursing, at least he doesn't bite...much! It seems like he was just born...but then again I still keep forgetting that my oldest is going to be 12!

Oh my goodness! You must be so proud! The youngest I've had a baby start walking was 1 year and 1 day so I can't imagine a 9 month old doing it, but at the rate this one is going maybe he will too!

I am sorry that I missed your other discussion...Your darling baby boy is learning so fast..they really are like little sponges..once they begin to develop...it is an endless roller coaster...they seem to blossom like a young rose bud through life ending up as a beautiful flower..sorry..the analogy just came to my mind...before you know it he will be walkng all over the place.. I know what a wonderful time this is for parents...it is so exciting to watch them as they begin attempting a new skill..then to watch them struggle until they accomplish it...then master it... I am happy to read something so positive this morning... Thanks for sharing with us, my friend...

It's alright, I know you have a lot going on right know...your analogy was quite fitting so no need to apologize for that either! The youngest I've had a baby walk was one year and one day but even that is less than 4 months away...it's just gone by so fast. And since we have every intention of him being the last baby it makes everything a little bittersweet...knowing that this is the last set of "firsts" of a child of my own. Mostly it's exciting though, he's wanted for so long to be able to chase his brothers and he gets closer to that every day. He might not be able to keep up but he sure does try!

Alex out by the Chicken Pen - This photo of Alex was taken yesterday in front of the chicke pen. He is growing so big...so many last "firsts"...
I completely understand about the last firsts too...since Alex will be our last..with so many years difference between him and his next brother (22 yrs)... We know that unless something happens where I end up raising my grandchildren...he is going to be our last experince in parenting.....

He certainly has had a busy time lately. Some babies tend to be like this. Mine all took their time starting to do things, but once they started they kept going, but not quite as quick as this. He is very clever! Best wishes to you, foxy, and hope bubby doesnt grow too quick.

I hope he doesn't grow too quick too but I guess it's bound to happen. I think this one is just trying to catch up to his big brothers and sisters as fast as he can!

That's awesome! My little guy started sitting up by himself on July 1, and he is 13 months old. I never thought he would sit up! I'm still trying to teach him the bye bye and clapping thing, he just can't grasp it yet. Our babies are growing up! :(

Good for your little guy too! He was early right? I'm sure he'll get bye bye and clapping soon enough. Mine doesn't do it "on command" or necessarily for any reason. Sometimes he's just copying us, sometimes he's just playing and happens to do it. I think we may have gone overboard with the clapping everytime he'd wave though LOL...all day today whenever I waved at him he would clap!

Yes, my boy was 13 weeks early, so even though he is 13 months, it's really only like 10 months old. Today he has been really mimicing my facial expressions, which is something pretty new for him to do. That is funny that your boy was clapping when you waved! LOL

good for him, my daughter was born 3 months preemature and once in a while i got worried about stuff she wasn't doing yet. although i knew she was going to be behind a little. but most of it was becasue the comments i revceived from other people. she ended up doing really good. she had a chekcup at the hospital for her development at 18 months and they told us she was at a 2 year old's level. so usually there is nothing to worry about. i found once they learn one thing so many things come that same week. i'm glad your son is doing so well

Mine wasn't anywhere near that early, only about two weeks which hardly counts for anything, but I still get comments from other people that bother me a little. Mostly because he is "small", well his dad and I are both small to average size people so it's not like we expected to have a "big" baby in the first place, but mostly it comes from people who haven't been around babies much. A month ago I actually had someone asked if I'd "popped out another one" because to him the baby looked like a newborn! That was pretty far fetched since he's twice the size of a newborn but it still bugged me(for more reasons than one!) It sounds like your daughter is doing really well now too! You're right that there usually nothing to worry about. They do things when they're ready anyway!

YAY that is awesome. It's funny how you wait so long for them to do one thing, then all of a sudden they do them altogether. Oh how I miss those days. Congratulations foxyfire.
