Let me see, poor is where all you have to eat is a package of dried refried beans. Poor is when you have to pawn the only possessions you have (such as your husbands guitar) for money for more food. This is poor, and trust me, I HAVE been there. I have been this poor, and trust me, it sucks. I bet I have been poorer than you are now, because I see you have a computer to type on, so I am assuming you have enough money for internet connection. I would have never dreamt of internet connection a year ago, because, like I said, there was once a time, I had only a package of beans to eat. And I had to spread them out for two nights. I also have bill collectors calling me night and day, but I no longer feel poor, because I at least have food in my cupboards, and I have this computer to type on. I am happy having what I have. And no matter how poor you may feel, think about how poor I was at a time in my life, and you will feel RICH!

Hi Jennifer That was touching, you speak out of your exepirence, I have been there so I understood it all. Life is full of mysteries some times you have another time you lack, but them that put their trust in God will survive any situation!

I think poor is when you cannot get out of the hole. Poor is having to make a choice between rent or transportation, and not being to rise above what you are. Poor is not having the necessities or what is considered necessity in your society. It depends on where you are.

Poor is when you haven't got anything to eat and not even a shelter to shield you from the rain or cold weather. But I think the poorest you can be is when you have no God.

Gotta tell you Cher, I think we're all beginning to learn what "poor" is. In my country everything seems to be going except the income of the average American. It's never been this rough before. Health care is through the roof, auto mechanics are getting $75.00 per hour, gas & food keep going up. Pretty soon it will be just rich and poor. No more middle class and no just comfortably well off. If we don't get a change in Washington soon, there won't be any more American Dream. Hard work, imagination and guts just don't do it in George Bush's America.

Well that depends. Some say you are not poor unless you cannot afford food and housing. Like people in the slum in 3rd world countries. Then others say you are poor if you miss out on normal things and activities in the society you are in. I think you are poor if you have trouble funding housing, clothes and food. But I see that beeing poore compared to others in your comunity feels really bad, and makes you feel poor.

They say that if you don't owe anything to anybody, you are rich. Maybe we need to learn to say no to creditors and cut up the credit cards so we don't get into more debt. I guess we are poor when we owe everything and we don't have any money left after the month ends. I guess you need to find a second job if you already have one. Do a garage sale or sell something. May God bless you and give you the means to become debt free.
