Plenty of books on our great epics RAMAYANA AND MAHABHARATA and also PANCHATANTRA, AKBAR AND BIRBAL stories, TENALI RAMAKRISHNA stories etc. These books are great inspiration for children and fun too. I preserved these books and it is now passed on to my son who is voracious reader.

Thank you for your response. It will be interesting to find out about books that are popular in different countries. I may see if I can find some translated versions to share with my children.

I was given a little set of medical books that consisted of three books in a case. They were small. We did not have alot of money and getting these books was really great for me. Somehow I got them through and Aunt who's husband was a sales rep or something. Anyway I loved these books. Then my Grandma gave me a bunch of Nursing books that I studied and late become a LPN. I worked off and on until I decided to come home to be with my children as they are growing up. They grow up so fast. I dont want to miss a minute of it!
