Presently it is approximately $1 and 20 cents in India. I guest it will be $2 by 2010. This liquid gold is becoming scarce resource day by day and mankind will have to evolve a new and renewable energy to replace this.

Right now in the US I am paying $3.27 USD per gallon And it was higher back in the first part of July. They are saying that we will be paying over $5.00 USD this time next year. I am afraid to know how much by 2010. The sad thing is General Motors had an electric car back in the 1990's. They only leased the vehicle and then recalled all of them. Once they had all the vehicles in their possession, they destroyed all but one. That one car, they took off all the technology and put it in a museum. I guess you could say they buried the technology. The major car companies now have fuelcell, hybrids, and hydrogen operated vehicles. I don't think they are looking out for our best interest. They also came up with E-85, this is fuel made like whiskey (ethenol), but now they are saying it is hurting the farming industry, it takes too much corn to make ethenol, where the farmer needs it for cattle, pigs, chickens, and human consumpsion. I really don't know where we will be in a few years. It is scary to imagine.

Thanks for informing all of us about GM's move in burying the technology. I was not aware of it. REgarding use of new and renewable energy, Brazil has already experimented and so also in Inida, the State Run transport mixes diesel with some other energy to enhance the supply. There is a car manufacturer in Bangalore REWA, which has introduced 2 seater car run by batteries. It is quite popular but not done on large scale. If it is done on large scale, may be the prices come down. Thanks for your intersting response.

Dear ssh123, By 2020, new energy source will be found by our scientists. Whether I will live to see the new phenomenon of new energy sources or not but I am sure they will supply electricity through cell phone mechanism. To get electric connection you would not need wires but connection like cell phone. All the world activities will run on electricity. We have only energy source which is abundant in supply is electricity. I hope ultimately Electricity will rule the world
