On the beach - How many hours will you spend there?

Many people like to spend the time in the beach here in summer. I like to go to the beach as well but not all day long. My hubby and daughter like to stay in the beach from morning till evening if possible. I always tell them it is unnecessary as the body is easy dehydrated and unhealthy. Spending 4 or 5 hours per day in the beach is more than enough. Do you like to go to the beach? How many hours will you spend there? What is your view of the time spending there?

I use to love going to the beach, but now I have my own pool! I think that the beaches of Sand Key and Clearwater Beach in Clearwater, Florida (U.S.A)and those on the shores of Lake Superior in the Keweenaw Peninsula in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (U.S.A) are my favorite beaches of all. I haven't been outside of the U.S.A. but I know that no matter what beaches I could see, the beaches in the Keweenaw Peninsula off of Lake Superior will always be among my favorites.

I take my son to the beach and we spend about an hour there which is enough time for him to swim and things.. Though we don't go during the day.. Being the sun is to hot and very easy to get a sun burn.. We go in the evening when the sun goes down some and it's much cooler out.. So about one to two hours is really enough..

It is a shame you don’t live near the beach. So please make the most of it while you are there and take sun proof precaution. Thanks for your reply.

Hey. Wow we spend alot of hours at the beach, my husband and our children will stay in the water for ages, We havent had a problem with being in the water too long, only that our hands and feet start to look old and wrinkly... Actually this is the first time Ive heard it to be unhealthy and dehydrating... We practically live at the beach, as its only down road... Thanks for the info, I will look into this as Ive never heard of it before...

Hello there, please allow me to clarify this. Since I have heard there are more people than before develop skin cancers after exposing in the sun, get sunburn without applying enough sun block and get dehydration for not drinking enough water etc. So I just use ‘dehydrated and unhealthy’ to conclude the situation, which is inappropriate. I am deeply sorry for the confusion caused.

When I was younger I loved to stay on the beach all day, now that I have a baby myself I just can't do that because I wont let him get that much sun he's just a baby. Plus you know they need naps so time wise with my son I will only stay and hour or so out in the sun. Now we went to a beach on our honnymoon and I would say my husband and I only stayed at the beach a few hours. Now we did rent a jetski and we stayed out on that for awhile.

I usually am happy to spend a couple of hours at the beach, unless there is a reason to be there longer. If we are having a big get together there or something then I don't mind being there longer, but just to take the kids there, I think that a couple of hours is usually long enough.

My home is pretty near to the beach so i can stay there all the time i want and no one will be there to trouble me. Actually that's what i like the fact that there's no one to irritate you , so that you can have all the peace in the world along with mother nature. aah, i luv it. i really think you ppl should try it out, it's a really great experience to relax on the beach during the evenings listening to nothing but the sound of the water laapping against the shores.

I like going to the beach, but I normally just go during Summer with my family. And when we do, I stay under the scorching heat of the sun the whole day! I can't get enough of the beach because I only get to go once or twice in a year.
