Update on health concern...

Have a health problem! - I'm going to Cebu City tonight to have a second opinion with a doctor in one of the hospitals there...I hope that everything would be fine with my check up, and that there is nothing serious with the lab findings...I'm a bit scared. Please pray for me....

I just had another round of lab tests this morning, and the doctor found that my sugar is still high, but it has improved (from 147, now it's 121), so I responded well to the medications. I am now starting to take medications for my bad cholesterol (low density lipid), is now on a low or no sweet diet, exercise, and low fat, no red meat, and the like. Thankfully, my liver is functioning well, that's why I am starting to take meds for my high cholesterol. But my two kids are unconvinced because they convince-forced me to go to Cebu, and ask for a second opinion. I did not want to, but they prevailed upon me. We're leaving tonight to see another doctor in Cebu, to ask for a second opinion, with my daughter. I am not really keen at going, but I have no recourse but to do as I am told. He, he, he. This time, it seems that my children (aged 25 and 22) are the ones who are making decisions for me, especially regarding my health. I will write again an update about my check-up; hopefully, everything will be fine. I am apprehensive again...

Yup, that's really great...we went to Perpetual Succour Hospital where there is a Specialty Department for all kinds of diseases from diabetes to hypertension, to cancer, etc. You can check it out...it's the first hospital outside of Metro Manila to perform an open heart bypass surgery...the doctors there are really good. Thanks much...

Yes, we did that, and the doctor also referred me to a dietician who instructed me about the kind of diet I should maintain...You're right...I had great bonding with my daughter, thanks.

Well, a second opinion isn't a bad thing, as long as the kids are paying for it! I think you are a bit young to have to have them making your decisions. :-) They will be tired of the responsibility in a few years and by then you might really need them! I don't look forward to having to depend on someone else to make my decisions. I am such an independent and stubborn person that my kids are going to have a really tough time dealing with me then. Maybe I should start praying for them in that regard now to get a head start! LOL

I am just hoping everything will going out fine regarding your health. You need to be more dicipline and take what the doctor have told you. Your children are very much concerned about you, and that is good to uplift your spirit. I'll be praying for you. Good luck!
