Which is a more futuristic programming language ?

I am looking to learn a programming language other than C and C++ as i already know them....i want it to be more futureistic that is be the most preferred language in the future..

The most widely used programming language is Visual Basic, and I believe the runner-up is Cobol. I don't know anything about Cobol. My grandpa did, and he didn't like it.
VB is not free, but there are the .NET platforms which are. That fact alone may spell "futuristic" for you, since so many people are getting obsessed with the thought of finding viable alternatives to Micro$oft's expensive software.
