Punctuation - How important is it online?

YES! I hate poor grammar and I cannot stand to read things that are very poorly punctuated. The odd tiny technical mistake is fine, of course. Once it affects the reader's ability to understand, then I think the author loses readership, potential friends who would read and comment, and respect.

LOL! Well you can think that it doesn't, but it does. There are a lot of people who won't read things that are poorly written. It's like saying that you can go to job interviews in pyjamas and that would have no effect on whether or not you get hired.

It isn't that important. Just make sure what you are saying can be understood. I mean sometimes a period can really make a difference in a sentence you see how I didn't put a period after the word "sentence" just now? That could really confuse some people on what I am saying. You don't have to go on a comma frenzy or something like that, just make sure we can understand what you are saying. That's all that really matters.

I agree! I don't think that grammar is important online to the point that typing e-mail or email or E-mail makes a difference. But a response filled with spelling errors, bad grammar, no punctuation, etc isn't readable.

sure.It is needed in mylot.Because if you want to express your feeling and if should be understandable to who read the message,i hope punctuation is important.
