Here is a clip from an article explaining this new acknowledgment. NEW YORK (Reuters) - PepsiCo Inc. will spell out that its Aquafina bottled water is made with tap water, a concession to the growing environmental and political opposition to the bottled water industry. ADVERTISEMENT According to Corporate Accountability International, a U.S. watchdog group, the world's No. 2 beverage company will include the words "Public Water Source" on Aquafina labels. It's funny I just saw your post, I was just watching the news and they were talking about this. I'm not sure what I think about it, I do drink that water and I don't think it will affect me when I'm picking my bottle water out. I only get bottled water when I'm out at a store, at home I drink well water.

I am not surprised at all. I drink tap water that is filtered and I like it better that bottled because I find bottled water has a plastic taste. I think it is a waste of money to buy bottled water and now there is even more reason not to. It is just tap water anyways. HAHA

Yes I know most bottled water is just plain tap water. I always drink plain water. My mom buys bottled water, occasionally I will get some of her bottles, I will wash them out, then refill them. The grandkids love getting in the fridge and getting a bottle of water.

My mom lives in the same city I do, our water is fine. But ever since she had her kitchen redone and the sink new and new pipes, her water taste funny. I read where you have sulver tasting water, yuck, I would be buying bottled water too.

I forgot to add, I had read on the news a long time ago. Where there are more cavities in kids teeth because of drinking bottled water. Like you said the bottled water doesn't have the added floride.

Hey j368, I've been hearing this about bottled water since the '80's-everyone should know by now that bottled water is just regular water that has been steamed & then returned back into water. It has a fancy name for that on the bottles but I can't think of it now |:X +'s |:)

No wonder i don't like Aquafina water! lol i really don't like it, but i DO like Dasani, which also comes from a public source. i guess either they come from different public sourves or they use different filtration processes...because i REALLY don't like Aquafina, but i think Dasani is great.

Yes I've read about that, both aquafina and dasani water. I confess I use bottled water a lot specially because it basically the only thing I drink and it's not only convenient but sometimes the only way to get water if I"m not home. I know I don't like the taste of dasani for some reason. It probably has to do with the minerals that are added. Aquafina doesn't have that taste and I will drink it if there is no other option. My aunt usually boils the tap water and keeps it in the fridge to drink, but somehow I don't like the taste of water that was boiled or filtered with brita I don't really know how to explain, after all water should have no taste but I can taste the difference in several water sources. I drink tap water as well but sometimes it seems to taste a bit strongly of chlorine. It's nice to know that they are making sure the water is safe, but when it's too strong I don't like it.

Bottled water is the only water I drink now a days. I buy the gallon jugs of spring water, or drinking water from the store sometimes because its so cheap.

I am a little upset that I have paid for tap water. But at the same time, I knew that somehow it tasted strangely familiar. I always did call it ghetto water because of the taste, but especially because of the name.

Oh yes, this was expected. Dasani as well according to reports. I usually drink tap water. It's all in the packaging and promotion would you not agree? Great discussion, by the way!

I think the article mentions Dasani as well. I used to drink Tap water but not any more. I have aseptic system, and a lot of the time our water smells like sulfur, so I stick to purified drinking water, or spring water.
