Kids can be soooooo sweet!!

My son and I attended a luncheon/playdate today. Seven moms all brought a dish, met at someone's house, the kids played while we ate and chatted. Well, all of the sudden one 3 yo little girl stands up in her chair, screaming at the top of her lungs, crocodile tears, absolutely terrified. The pet dog that belonged at that house had been let out of the room it had been closed up in (to prevent this very occurrence). Suddenly we hear a wailing cry from a distant room which sounded familiar to me so I go and find my son crying his eyes out because he was playing with the dog and it got away. So the dog starts scrambling away from all the screaming children, my son is chasing after him, I realize my son is responsible for setting this all in motion, other moms are trying to calm the little girl, the mom of the house is crying "I'm so sorry" and snatched the dog up. Away he went into the fenced in backyard. As the dust is settling from all the havoc, we look up to see the once-terrified little girl and my son giggling as they watched the dog through the glass backdoor going poop in the yard. My son had his hand on her back as if to say "it is okay". We all just sat down and laughed. I love these little playdates which are truly the highlights of our week. There is always a special moment that we get to take away from them each week.
