I put a chuck roast in the slow cooker this morning. I added roasmary, chives, and italian spices on the roast. I then added chopped garlic, a red onion and a bell pepper. Now the house smells so good. Who is hungry and wants to come for dinner? I think I will make rice and some fresh green beans from the garden for dinner. Who wants to bring dessert? Good smells? What is your favorite dish?

It's at times like this that I wish there was smell-o-vision for our computers...that sounded like a wonderful dinner....I could come over with some ice cream--how does Rocky Road sound to you? And I just not ate too long ago, and reading this I'm hungry all over again!!

Normally we are told to add the spices at the end so they do not end up tasteless. Normally if you smell something then it won't taste much like that when it comes time to eat. I hope it does turn out just seems odd to me when it goes against the crock cook book. I like ribs and put onion, and then carrots and potatoes in at intervals so not one thing gets over done. We end up with like a gravy in the pot and even my kids love it when I crock pot the meat. They have insisted on putting steaks in there now. Darn. We don't get steaks often and that seems such a waste to me. LOl

I very seldom use a recipe to cook from. I have lodes of cook books. The roast came out great, to me it had just the right amount of seasoning. I added it all at first so all the seasonings could marry together. We finished it off for tonights dinner. My hubby had it with gravey and all over left over hot dog buns. LOL I still could taste all the spices indevidually at times. I am now cooking down fresh tomatoes so I can can tomatoe juice tomorrow. My hubby picked several buckets of tomatoes, it is the green picked kind we get in the market all year long. He knows the farmers, he can get any of the ones which start to turn red. I canned tomato sauce already this summer now it is tomato juice time.

Oh, teapotmommommerced, the smell really makes my mouth watery. Though it’s not time for dinner I still feel hungry as it’s time for me to take supper (time zone here is 10:45pm now) lol. Any food will do as I’m not the type of person who is picky. If I were given a chance I would pick seafood. Here I’m bringing some cheese cakes, hope you will like it.

I am learning to appreciate seafood. I tasted scallopes, clams and muscles in June of this year. I liked them all. I like the big scallopes the small ones in pasta I was not crazy for their texture, it was like eating meat fat.

My favorite cooking smells will always be the Christmas holidays. Pumpkin pie and turkey cooking, but I love BBQ smells too! What time is dinner at your place? It sounds wonderful!!

To night dinner will be around 6 or 7 I am not sure what we are having. I have been cooking tomatoes all day so I can can up some tomato juice for this winter. I also made a tolhouse cook bar and added some marshmellows to it. Yum. It kills my diet. Oh well I will start up again tomorrow.

Rice pudding is not my favorite. I do not like the texture, it is like the texture of bread pudding I cannot tolerate that either. I do love rice, and the other ingredients, it is what it feels like in my mouth.
