I was cooking lasagna today, and I was in the middle of the meatsauce, when I was about to start the lasagne sauce. When I went to go get a new package of flour from the pantry, I noticed those little bugs around the flour bag (it was wrapped in a plastic bag). I was grossed out, but I know this is one of the downsides of living in South Florida...bugs...everywhere. So there I were with no flour to make the sauce. My cellphone isn't working, so I could not call my husband to bring home some flour. Some quick thinking, and now we are having spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner. Have you ever tried something similar, where you were in the middle of cooking dinner, when you realize that you were missing an essential ingredient? What did you do?

It is for that reason that I always put flour, cereals, noodles in the fridge when I buy them ..even if they are sealed.. Creepy crawlies get in even closed bags. As you know, Survior Man and Man vs Wil on tv shows that these nuisances are full of proteing..but who wants them in a recipe we didn't invite them too!

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely start implementing this. We have actually started doing it with cookies, but I think we will extend it. It just grosses me out.
