I'm getting hot flashes!

Every time I drink warm or hot tea, I get severe hot flashes and it makes me very uncomfortable. This has only been going on for the past few years and I don't think it's related to menopause. Most times it gets so bad that I have to stand in front of an air conditioner to cool off. However, when I drink hot coffee, I feel no side effects at all. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this phenomenon. And, if so, maybe you could explain why some warm liquids make your body feel hot while others don't. Would love to know.
