we have a tiled floor in our house, from the terrace, sala, bed rooms, kitchen and dining, family hall and bathroom. we prefer to had it tiled since that's easier to clean, and looks more tidy.
how about your house? is your floor tiled or do you use carpets?

The only place tiled in your house is our comfort room. We got no carpets too. we do got marble floors in our living rooms, and bedrooms.
it is also easy to clean. I like it because it is cold. I even like to lie on the floor when it is really hot.

My house has a tiled floor. I think tiles are more easy to maintain. Most of the time it just requires sweeping and dust can be swept easily unlike carpets that dust can get even underneath it not mentioning the dirt that sticks on the carpet itself, sometimes its hard to remove.

Hi,In India,we mostly have houses having tiled floors for the obvious reasons you have already mentioned. However, nowadays, wooden floors and marbled floors with decorative metal(mainly brass)borders is in vogue. But we do have some parts of our houses totally wall to wall carpeted.
I think each of these has its own beauty and advantages. But the basic factor common to all is cleanliness and regular maintenance.

Hey. We have carpet all the way through our house and bedrooms, and lino in the kitchen, toilet, bathroom, shower room and laundry room, everywhere else is carpeted, which is a good thing, as we have no fire place and use a gas heater, I suppose carpet would minimise the cold in our house too...
