Have you ever deleted your boyfriend or ex-boyfriend from your IM friends list?

The other day I was watching a TV show about a guy who sent over 200 emails and text messages to his "cyber crush" girlfriend. He was married and apparently fooling around on the side with other women. It didn't end up working out for them. But, apparently he kept sending her messages anyway.
And, it made me wonder what you should do if you ever get into a situation where a guy keeps sending you unsolicited text messages, Instant messages or emails of a romantic nature while you are involved with someone else or otherwise unavailable.
So what do you do when you break up when someone and they won't stop sending you emails and instant messages? Should you delete them from your friends list? Should you start using another instant message service? How do you explain to the person that it's time to move on and leave you alone?

If this happened to me I would first explain to the guy that it is disrespectful for him to still be sending me messages while I am in a relationship with someone else. If he continued to send me messages I would block him from my list or get a different account so he couldn't message me.

Totally disrespectful! I think some guys figure that if they are persistent enough it will pay off. They don't know that we think they are being a real pain.
