I know what you mean. I thought my cat was the only one that did that. He follows me everywhere; I've almost stepped on him several times because of him getting in the way. I think that if I put a leash on him he'd actually take a walk like a dog. It's way to funny. Recently, when CJ and I went to see my parents, Mark was left at home for over 2 weeks with Taffy. The cat didn't venture out of CJ's bedroom the entire time, except late at nite when Mark was in bed, in order to eat. When Mark did see him and tried to pet him, Taffy would 'hiss'...LOL It's not that he doesn't like Mark because when CJ and I are around he'll let Mark pet him, and Taffy will actually sit next to him on couch. It's strange how animals have their favorite humans...

My cat gets very upset if routine is broken as well. She likes everything the same way everyday.

She loves you, and she is looking for a snack, or attention from you. One of my cats do the same thing.

Can you tell me which one of your cats lets you rub and scratch her belly. I read somewhere that is a sign of trust from the cat. I have had my cat almost a year and she wouldn't have it any other way in the bedroom when I am laying down!!

Just recently since we have has so much rain we have had a lot of water roaches coming in from under the door so she has not followed me into the kitchen, the bedroom has all the A/C in it as well.

That's where the food is! My cats, especially Columbus, follow me to the kitchen and will usually nibble at the remnants from their breakfast. I would imagine that this is all a matter of habit. The cats see you going to the kitchen and just want to keep you company and maybe get something to eat, even if their food bowl is full.

Sometimes I just put a ice cube in the water bowl that seems to settle her down and she thinks she is really getting something HA HA

My cats follow me into the kitchen all the time because they think they're going to get a treat. We have a stool next to one of my counters, and my Turkish Angora, Daisy, always perches on it. In the mornings, as I make my tea, I'll give her treats. Now she's conditioned to perch on the stool every time I go into the kitchen. If I don't give her treats, she stares at the treat jar on the shelf above her. And maybe she loves my company and can't bear to be without me.

I put a stool in my kitchen to keep the cat off of the counter! There are plenty of places for her to look at me in the kitchen. Basically she just wants to be close to me all the time. Don't have a treat jar but that is a great idea!!

Singing Cat Chorus with our Ginger Marmalade Twins - Our ginger marmalade twins are coming up to a year old. Tigger is bigger...TeeToh the mischief maker is smaller. They constantly sing for their supper no matter what time of day it is and whenever anyone heads to the kitchen for any reason. Cute, cuddly twins...and we love them!
Our cats do the same thing...and they will 'sing' for more food even when their bowls are full too!I think they are conditioned to think that when we go into the kitchen...that we are going to eat..so they should too. We have 5 cats..and it can get pretty noisy when they all meow in their unique voices to create a 'chorus of cats!' I have included a picture of our two ginger marmalade twins Tigger and Tee-Tooh singing for their supper anytime anyone enters the kitchen...for any reason! Oh yes...cats they are cute...even during the times they are ever-so-slightly annoying...right?

My cat always follows me to the kitchen. She's always looking for fresh food or water, even if you just filled up the dishes! Crazy kitties!
